Only one thing bothers me about that moon: it isn't perfectly round. Other than that, the moon is a great idea and gives the map a feel as though Mario is up in a mountain or something like that.

Despite the attempt at asomewhat mario-esque style of GFX, you gotta shade the moon at least.

Some future reference here too, in case you have'nt thought of this already:
Okay, so you got a huge moon... Halloween is almost up, so why not get festive and make that a ghost world? Add some ghost houses or a pumpkin patch. Give some cool poems in the levels like, "The pumpkins smile as the moon shines down upon the hallowed graveyard...". I suck but you get the idea...

The moon needs some kind of border or shading around the edges. Right now it looks like a giant searchlight or something with craters.

It's a good idea and all, just.. needs some work.

Cool, but Kratos brings up some good points. Also, try adding diagonal lines to the stars, like an X over a +. (The lines on the + should be longer though.) Maybe even make them twinkle.

Hmmm... In comparison to the moon, the other part just doesn't seem interesting. Also, I would use a different tile for the ground on the upper-left one, it looks rather odd to have the stuff be drastically lighter than what's around it. As for the moon itelf, though... The craters actually seem lighter than the outside area. I don't know if that's an optical illusion or not, but I would opt for a shaded bit in one corner. The obvious problem of it not loading proper extra graphics when diplaying event tiles shouldn't really be a problem unless there are path tiles on the moon, so you should pretty much feel free to use lots of ExGFX in making it, if you're worried about that.

Specifically, I'm refering to the large moon. The rest of the submap is a beta layout of sorts. I plan to improve it later. I tried my best with the craters, and they seemed to turn out quite well. I'm thinking of making the bottom of the craters slightly darker than the main color or the moon. It just didn't seem to look right when it was darker than the inner sides of the crater. What do you think I should do?

EDIT: Damned typo. Meant to say "these submap graphics"
