I'd send through mail, but...they wouldn't reach you in an edible form...
It's a good idea to check out Gavin's homepage as well, there are other examples and neat sourcecodes to look through. (for those other non-Gavin people)
i'm going to be finally updating the site a little bit more, and whipping up a few more open source tid-bits regarding romhacking programs.
I've been approached with enough frequency, and i've given out enough of the same code already, that it seems silly to not put it up. Hopefully this will get up in a decent span of time. I have a real job now, school, and a metric fuck-ton worth of uncompleted projects to first contend with |

i already responded to basically this situation in a post to Elixernova, so i'll just do a quick copy and paste because i'm lazy like that
try this: gavin.panicus.org/downloads/example.zip
quite simply, you paint the tiles on the screen and it updates the array and displays the information to the right of it.
simpe stuff, hope it helps. if you have any other questions or the code is flawed i'll try to fix/help.
oh, and just a side-note: for some time now i've been working on a basic "shell" to a level editor. Currently it loads the game, has a tile painting field, can edit game graphics, edit game TSA, edit games palettes, et cetera. i'm hoping for a release if i ever get off my arese and finish it. it's been taking a bit longer just because it's boring working on the same large project and i have so many other ones... not to mention the fact that the whole program requires an extreme amount of flexibility. *gavin shrugs* |
