I was thinking about this a while ago, and I figured I could probably make one, but I was gonna do it for the original GB since I know more about it. (Plus it'd connect to the parallel port, since that's easier to make. ) I haven't got around to trying it, since I don't have a lot of spare link/parallel port cables. In theory it could easily work, but even the slightest lag would probably muck everything up (can't exactly slow down the real GB to wait for a packet), so you'd want to stick to LAN play (or really fast broadband) or linking a GB and an emulator. (Of course the emulator would need to be designed for it as well.)

As for the actual system, Ailure is probably right about even low lag ruining it. Since the GBA was not designed for internet usage, as far as we know.

Those are some really good points. now it makes sense why they havent tried yet

I don't think i've ever played GBA multiplayer, maybe once or twice but it wasn't for a long time because it got boring.

I dont see why this thing coudlnt exsist. I realise that it probably doesnt, but it would be GENIUS on part of Nintendo if they made these things. You plug them into your computer, load up some nintendo software thats pretty much a games lobby and buddy list, and you connect with other gamers.
While playing your GBA with them, you have a chat console on te computer to talk to them.

I think this is a great idea.

Gameboy Multiplayer games dont really sell well. Hell, I dont even remember when the last time I played a gameboy game with someone else was. All I remember is that it was Tetris for origional gameboy.

Yeah.. so.. god. I wish nintendo would make this part.

There is a version of VBA someone made from the source that lets you link up multiple VBA instances, and someone I heard is working on eventually getting a VBA online multiplayer, but don't expect a clean unbumpy ride, it'd probably be slow to make sure it doesn't screw up the synchronizing.

That's too bad. That would be friggenawesome if it did exist.

That's one of the reasons why there is no Internet or even LAN Multiplay on VBA.

And no, there is no such thing.

I heard the GBA is quite bitchy about having it synced and all. Infact it's not made for Internet lag. And even a ping of 10 ms would probably be too much. :/

Nope, not as far as I'm corncerned. This would be a nice tool but there would have to be some network, maybe you could link it up to VBA or something... But that's still a very distant future.

Well, there is another thing that exists. Using ROMs and finding an emulator that can play the games online.

I don't see why the product your thinking of can't exist, but I've personally never heard of it.

Ok here's how it works: you plug one end of this cord into your gba multiplayer port and plug the other end into your usb port so you can play over the internet. Does this exist?
