there is a program out there that will allow you to view your "Windows XP Product Key" if you use that, you should be able to get it... |

yeah, im removing it from this computer...needs a fresh install.....were borrowing the cd cause we dont have one... |

That might be it, but I'm pretty sure thats illegal unless you're removing XP from that computer. Unless you meant he's borrowing it to re-install on that one. |

im gonna format this comp tonight, and im wondering if I can find what cd key I use...since I dont have it written down(this is a used computer, already came with windows installed, and we never got a cd or cd key with it) i need to know, cause my brother is borrowing a winXP cd from his friend, but I need to get the cd key to install it...
just incase, is it that number that is there when you right click "My Computer" and go to properties and it says is Registered to: etc etc 55285-010-99xxxxx-xxxxx (lol replaced numbers with x's just incase ) ^ is that the cd key?
if not, how do I get my current cd key, ... its probably in the registry....
