so does this mean, that whatever picture I want to use, wether it's from NES or SNES I don't have to do anything to YY-CHR, or paint? If I want to keep the exact colors, all I have to do is screw around with the palletts in Lunar Magic?

Anyone?

You need to change the palette. Change it using the palette editor in the overworld editor (it is the star button). Find the palette of the submap you are editing and change it. Some palettes are shared, such as the cave and Bowser submaps. I don't know if it is the same with the star world and special.

Edit the palettes and you will then have it to work.

EDIT: I made post 11111 in this forum. Weird...

yeah that was the problem, thank you. But now to my problem..Here's my previous statement.

Just as the thread says. I have no idea why the colors are doing this. I want to be able to use a picture the way it is for my backround. Here's what I'm trying to do. Now, I have NO IDEA what to do, that's why I'm posting. So to save everybodys breath, and a ridiculously long thread, please tell me step by step what to do, that's the only way I can learn. I also searched for specific q&a's for my situation, and I have come up empty. When you see the main pic, you'll understand my problem. What I want, is to keep the colors from a picture I upload into YY-CHR to Lunar Magic.

http://tinypic.com/cuvbc "castle backround for my overworld" i understand that the pic resolotuoin sucks, that's not the point. The point is, how do I keep the colors intact from this point, all the way to inserting them into Lunar Magic. This picture was saved as 256 BMP. I tried the smaller 16 BMP, but it made look more like shit when I looked at it through the Paint program. I never bother to save it as 24 BMP.

I thank you for your help. If the answer I'm seeking is given, this will open the door for me, for creating whatever ideas I have, wether it's backround related, gfx, efgfx, anything. Thank You

Are you actually properly signed onto acmlm's board? Because if you're not and only 'signing in' when you make a reply/thread you wont be able to edit the posts.

Try 'Login' at the top underneath the title banner if you aren't....

ok then, what do I do step by step then? I don't know what to do, what to use, how to do it, etc etc. I appreciate the assistance. Please don't flame me. I want to learn this correctly, I have many many ideas that I want to accomplish. Please don't flame me. Thank You.

ALSO I have no "Edit" icon next to my "Quote" icon. I can't edit my posts.

Well it would seem to me that you're inserting it all as one palette. And it also looks like you aren't changing that palette.
