Yeah, that's exactly what I did. Windoze really didn't like it.
I'll try that method, though... Hey, it kinda worked. Tried to copy it back from the CD, but I wasn't about to let that happen.

The method I do for quick stuff though is simply copying the file in %WINROOT%, %SYSTEMROO% and %SYSTEMROOT%/dllcache in less than five seconds.

You know how if you try to replace a system file, it copies the old version back? I need to kill that. I tried modifying the DLL as mentioned on various sites, but that just made it not boot. (No BSOD, just rebooted. Remember kids, always keep backups.) Ideas? Free pie?
