Well, I'm thinking about it, but I'm not really sure what I'm doing. This is a much larger project than I thought. I still need to have her bend her knees and stuff too.... and I have no earthly idea how to.

I did have a cool avatar here once, the "Dead Karl" image.
It was pretty big so I can see why you all deleted it. I cannot find it anymore!!! Agh!

The cop looks like a tower. Are you fighting towers?

I did create a few sprites from scratch for my homebrew game. I'm sure some people from TEK already seen these, but...

This one is a concept I created from paint, then modified in PSCS.

One of the bosses before colourization...

A really mean cop I call, "Badass Cop".

Assorted vehicles used in the game.

Don't tell me what to modify, I know what's best, believe me...
A few old in-game screenies:
Trains and a boss to defeat.
Dual Machine guns!
Blue Afterburners.
A fancy teaser for the next version...

Seen the Colin Mocherie sun one. :\

This is actually getting away from the original, so...let's move this...

Flame on

This little ditty has no textboxes at all. Because it lacks all dialogue. It's still funny though, because it's Kawa-abuse.

Sprite recolors are boring. Most sprite comics are boring; they need really good writing to make up for the fact that most of them look the same. (Unless you're using all handmade sprites.) When I make sprites, which I rarely do anymore, I make them from scratch.

On topic, yes. There's not so much useful activity in spriting that it would require its own forum. There have been sprite threads in Modern Art in the past. (E.g. "I made these sprites. Comment.") It's just like anything else you put in there. If a sprite forum were warrented, first there would need to be drawing, writing, and (god forbid) poetry forums. And there aren't. Maybe it would be reasonable to split it into written vs. visual art, but I think it's fine the way it is.

I haven't really animated before either, that's the thing.

With drawing a samurai sword, the character is probably going to twist their upper body, which is going to be tricky to realise in pixel art.... (and not exactly easy if I just plain drew it either)

I'd probably have to do several sketches of each step of the animation... all which would have to be fairly precise and accurate in relation to the other sketches... so probably a lot of tracing is going to occur, with minor changes... the trick will be making those changes look proper, not stupid.... THEN I have to pixel it all.... and put it all together....... arghrghrghrg.

This could take me, whilst working full time, a good month to complete properly. Not counting all the rurouni kenshin I am going to study intently to watch Kenshin draw his sword....

Horrible sketch animation. Anyways, I'm sure it can be done, as I guess demonstrated above to some extent, but it will take a lot of work. That's just moving the arm, ideally she'd bend her knees, and then also put the sword back in it's sheath as well.... and of course, it'd have to be a FUCK LOAD neater!!

But yeah, it WOULD be possible, but what I just did there was the quick part...

Let's see you do one Adrian...and then you might understand.

The Saki one that I did is only a few frames...and they were ripped from the game...but it was a screenshot capture so it wasn't as easy as ripping it from black and white...and it was an edit.

Took me five hours to do that. And the thing, I'm sure, is under 20 frames.

Now other sprites that I can rip that are on single color surfaces are a lot easier to manipulate (like the one I have in my custom title now, actually he has a little harder) and usually don't take me more than 10 minutes to an hour.

Now for an animated thing from scratch...omfg...that'd take a half-day, day at least, if you want something looking halfway decent.

I'm not sure how to go about doing that at the moment... I'd have to think about it a bit... moving an arm is fine, but swinging a sword.... would require the body to twist, which I think would be a little harder to animate well....

I will supply you with an infinite supply of brownie points if you do!~

One l, Tarale. Sort of like Tamale with the m flipped.

Word association...bite me.

But that would be cool but...spriting's...hard. Just editing shots to something coherent is hard enough.

I'll do that when i'm gonna make a new one thank you.
