Well the hills used to have gaps in them and I put some background hills in. By the end of today, I'll probably have a demo out going up to half of world 2...with the yellow switch palace and a bonus level 14 levels in all. All I have left to do is make the pansers green or red like they are supposed to be and to work out a couple of minor glitches.

I swear, someone has GOT to teach me how to make my own sprites...
The pansers look very awesome. I have some really cool ideas that would go well if I had the knowledge. By the time I fully understand, most of you would probably be tired of this sort of thing...

They're a pain to make though...the top and the bottom use 2 different pallettes so the top looks red while the bottom is green

I LOVE the underwater ghost shot. That is the most unique one I've seen so far.
The rest could use some work. Try to use the same initiative you used in that level for everything else, you'll do wonderfully.

Thanks for the feedback... Anyway, I have already fixed the vines but those are old pictures, and also the coins. The fish are custom made...I couldn't find the second frame for them so I made it myself, and I made the fins go a little too far in...Otherwise, I will fix this up.

Some more screens...

Forest island 2 - first half

Forest island 2 - second half

Forest ruins - first part

Forest ruins - second part...

Tundra wastes 2 (ice world 3)

I swear that's all. I know some of the status bars need to be fixed here too.

1st Shot:
- The vine is messed up.
- The level below mario cuts off part of the cliff. Not really a big deal.
- The level to the left of mario has plant parts below it.
- There is a plant part on the plant farthest left.
- Its going to look weird going right at marios current position. He goes down a cliff and will just keep walking....

2nd Shot:
- The hills need some work (palette work and what Aioria explained)
- The fish just look odd. Are they custom made?

3rd Shot:
- Looks good.
- The vine is messed up tho.

4th Shot:
- All is good except for "?" box palette.
- The lamp needs to be a bit darker its to bright to make it look like its in the BG.

5th Shot:
- Coins look odd everything else is good.

Your overworlds are beautiful, but in terms of levels you have to fix a lot of things:

-on the second screen those hills are made wrong. You are using only 2 pices of the hill structure. It actually has 3:

the top ^ (1)
the area between the top and the 'body' /..\ (2)
and the body of the hill [::] (3)

You are only using (1) and (2), and forgeting to use (3).
Your hills are like this:

..^..
/..\
/..\
/..\
/..\

But they should be like this:

..^..
/..\
[::]
[::]
[::]

So, rip the other part of the hill and follow this scheme I told you. The way it looks now is crap, but if you put the rest of the hill (as i just described above) it will look good.

....................................................................................................

-The last screen's background uses a few palletes (only 5 or 6, from what I'm seeing). This means that you could avoid the status bar problem on it, so rearrange the palletes in your tile editor. Remember that you can use from pallete 0 to 8, and you have also palete C (for rows 0 and 1). This means you have a total of 9 paletes to use in each one of the 2 first rows that are used for backgrounds. So, you don't need to affect the status bar.
And this 'fix the status bar' request goes for the 'ice level w/ smb3 hills' screen also.

The hills look like crap in the 2nd screenshot, fix them.

Change the 5th screenshot's bg to something else, or make a graident BG.

Other then those 2, everything else looks nice.
