Um, what do you think is the most common file in use for media....

Streaming media no, but WMV's suck and so does the "Buffering" every time you have to seek. Everything is either AVI or a derivative of it (.ogm, .divx, etc)

I never heard of RAM files, but I didn't know that AVI is still used. Wow.

No wonder I've never heard of it. It sucks. I normally use divx but the clips I was trying to get hold of are pretty rare.

Don't use RealOne / RealPlayer if possible. I only have it on my system for very few files; avi files compressed in DivX or XviD are much better.

What do you use to make these work? I downloaded and episode of celebrity jeopardy and it was a ram.
