Um, there's a little problem...
Explorer crashes whenever I use Search! This has happened since we got it. Seems like every copy of Windows XP has a problem somewhere. My friend's XP computer can't use Log Off! He must Switch Users and then in another name, use Task Manager to log them off. Hmmf
Know any good tools for searching the HD? |

I had the problem earlier, but I repaired it. Search for the file AUTOEXEC.NT on your hard drive, then copy it in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 Folder, that's it. |

Ever since installation of Windows XP SP2, I've been unable to run any 16-bit Windows programs. (or DOS programs, but I use DOSbox anyways) Whenever I try running a 16-bit program, like the Microsoft Arcade or Wingroove, it gives me the following message:
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate the application."
I think SP2 screwed up AUTOEXEC.NT. Anyone know what's wrong, or how to fix it? |
