im not going to hack them or alter anything in them, i just wanna get into his file because our computer drafting class had a discussion about hacking and he said if anyone can hack his username we get an automatic a for the year (even though i already got nothing lower then an a in that class)

You mean you want to get into other student files? I'm pretty damn sure that's illegal.

Yep it was like that before for us.

Now, the other folders only appears if your logged in as an admin. An certain admin often forget to logout at my school...

And why would you like to open up other people folders?

It's not like that. That's basically just one folder (called $user$), which you only see as your own folder while being logged in.

Our School isn't the brightest, but the Proxyrestriction...

you can only use Ports 80 for HTTP and 21 for FTP, others I didn't check, but IRC or Filesharing is not possible. except you use Port 80 or 21.

We had the Filenamerestriction back in 2001, when the School still used Windows 98 Computers. So a search for Winword or explorer.exe on the network bought you many results.

As they upgraded to Windows 2000, that restriction left. You still don't have any Administrator Rights, but you can run every programm, that doesn't require these.

I downloaded some Games and Roms there too, it was funny as we watched the Intro from Super Demo World; The Legend Continues several times.

Or when they watched as I played it. Some levels ARE hard, aren't they?

Played Mario Kart over the Network, and the Homeworld 2 Demo, or GTA2, or other Games and things. But mostly they play Flashgames or browserbased Onlinegames.

I bring CD's of roms and Zsnes to my school all the time, kids download Kazaa, hell I've seen Grokster, Kazaa, Morpheus, Aries, and Kazaa Lite on the same computer! People have no dignity in that. But if your wanting to easily bypass internet restriction use a proxy, even though they can be annoying on how slow they can be there simple.

well, my admins are really stupid, they have folders for every student and teacher in school, so your saying, just create a shortcut to the folder and it would work? btw our school uses windows XP, i am awar of the consequences, i just wanna be a rebel once in my life

Reminds me of Quake class.

My highschool spent a lot of money to set up a technology class in one of the old shop rooms. It had a wind tunnel, a programable robot, a sound studio both, a tv station room, and several other stations with computers that did different things. Then they put the shop teacher in charge of the room. Now this guy was barely smart enough to teach shop.

The more computer savy students had a way to by pass the firewall and install games. It had something to do with renaming windows.exe and restarting the computer. When it freaked out trying to find windows, they went in and changed the parameters of the security then fixed it and restarted again. Eventualy the teacher would help and install the games (even told some students the password to do so) and the entire class was in a deathmach of either Quake 2 or Starcraft. Fun class, but I doubt the teacher is working there anymore.

I can't really do anything 'big' at my school, messing with the computers will get you punished very badly. And the old "I was trying to point out a security hole" excuse stopped working after I gave myself admin rights.

I know that if you boot Win XP in safe mode. There is an admin account there named "admin". Unless the people at the school were smart enough to remove that account.

I hadn't started Win XP in boot mode yet (I had no need too) so I can't confirm it, but severeal PC magazines have stated that...

This dosen't work at my school thought. The computers even have their bios locked (yep, we have pretty smart admins here...) . Unless I remove the battery I can't even use an Boot disc... which can be used as an hacking tool.

Most fun I ever had in school's computer class was getting people to give me money in exchange for hacking into their accounts and giving them the completed homework :-P e-mail is so pass
