The game was a satire of comic books and japanese heroes. I think the anime was intended to be a satire of superhero animes, much like Kill Bill is a satire of Hong Kong action films (I.E. it's so bad, it's good).

I'd suggest you watch it yourself before taking Jill's judgement for an opinion. Much as I do agree with her, it is kinda cheesy, I still liked what I saw. To each their own, but their own isn't necessarily someone else's.

Woohoo, first episode of the subs released today! I'm downloading it now, I can't wait to see what it's like when I actually understand what's going on...

I've seen the game before. They are really better off with the comics. I find them much easier to read; more or less, look at. The cartoony colourful stuff in games really makes me dizzy , hurts my head too much.

I still need to play the game, but hopefully the show will clarify the plot of said game and then give aditional background information so that playing the game will make the show that much more enjoyable.

The Op/Ending sequences are shit. Although the songs themselves are good.

Not much action yet... but at least its going to begin like the games with him rescuing Sylvia. Not sure if that's going to be the whole focus of the series or not. I hope not, though.

I'm gonna be a touch pissed off if they take 52 episodes to go through the (extremely short!) game. I'd like to see some background plot, and we know Alastor and the rest are gonna be speaking role characters, so maybe it won't really so much be Joe rescuing Sylvia as it is a series of interconnected adventures leading up to a grand climax...

In any case, I wanna see what they do with his plane and stuff. That ought to be interesting.

Yeah, that's understandable, it does start a little slow. My younger brother actually started playing it, and after he got to a part he couldn't get past he taught me all the moves he'd learned along the way. It builds up to be a much stronger game than it starts off as. Anyway, give that one a chance -- it surprised me.

Not much Viewtiful action in the first ep either, unfortunatley.

You haven't played Viewtiful Joe?

Picture something like Final Fight, but much more stylized, and there's cool special movie effects-based powers and stuff. I can't really describe it too well.

Anyway, I'm just looking forward to the action scenes, if the action in the anime is anything like the game action, it'll kick ass. Wonder what they're doing for plot, though...?

A whole 52 episodes, think of all the filler ones.

Then again, that's what they said about Full Metal Alchemist . I haven't played the game, I wonder if this'll really be good.

Sooooo.......

I think that pretty much says what I'm trying to say. Am I the only one excited about this? I know the subbing is pretty crappy, but I'm looking forward to it, VJ was one of my favorite games, and I think it's cool that they're trying to bring it to anime.
