New pokemon are always good for any pokemon game. You get new pokemon in every series of pokemon games, although with 3 regions I think the world is getting crowded  . There is nothing wrong with new pokemon, though it'd be interesting to see what you would do without them. Choose for yourself to have new pokemon or not, but don't try and say that new pokemon are bad, otherwise Gold-Silver to Fire Red-Leaf green are the worst pokemon games ever, since they do contain (in the end) more "new" pokemon than the original Red-Blue-Yellow. |

OMFG. Firstly, if you put your hack on a cart and sell it, thats illegal. You're modifying copyrighted material. Why do you think people release an ips patch instead of the modified rom? And also, of course you're game is fucking fake, even without new Pokemon, the game is going to be all changed anyway. And wtf are you talking about "not serious?" Just because there are new pokemon on you're game doesn't make it stupid. They don't need to be crazy cartoon creatures, they could just be a modified new set. It shows some creativity.

I mean,Hacks that have new pokemon and stuff and change all like a fantasy thing is like making a hack for FUN,But if hes making it serious why would he put new pokemon in it? With what i mean with serious is that for example you put your hack in a cart and sell it with boxes and stuff like nintendo does.
DING BLING some one plays it and find new pokemon in it and says its fake but maybe likes one that replaces Electrode for example,Trades it to bitch arround and DING an electrode appears on the other cartridge and with the new pokemon name and the attacks it has.
Putting new pokemon for me is stupid because they are fake (no offence to people who do it) and i don't like to do it not just because im lazy
All i do is replace the sprites with better ones but the same pokemon and stuff..
For me putting new pokemon that you make is pretty stupid and makes the game look fake. |

WTF? Making new Pokemon is a great thing, it allows you to really express a creative aspect when it comes to hacking, its what makes Pokemon such a great series to hack! I think maybe interdpth is getting lazy, he may have finished a hack, but with no new Pokemon. He wants to release it, without having to do more work of creating new Pokemon. So he made this thread so people don't regard his hack as being inferior. What do you think? Is that a plausible assumption? |

Look, making your own Pokemon is very tedious. You think everyone hacking Pokemon is obsessed with Pokemon. I am not, but I like the game. Even people who do not even like the Pokemon theme like the game for the gameplay.
If you don't like new Pokemon, get over it. That is like saying Mario's Adventure is bad because of the ASM hacks, or saying that graphics edits are stupid. Editing a sprite is very hard work. Even editing a SNES sprite is tedious work and you have a bigger palette with that... unless you are talking about R/S...
Either way, editing sprites is better that making a hack that looks the same. A map hack and text edit sometimes won't cut it in the long run. |

Well, about trading... I was/am working in aother hack with a friend, and the pokemon -i don't like the word "fake"- will be the same except the legendaries. I am going to do a hack of fire red in the future with the same pokemon, and add new pokemon to the first hack. They guy who is working in a hack with my pokemon is going to hack fire red, too. So there will be 4 hacks with the same pokemon |

I've done it. and the original pokemon gets traded. The link just transfers the hex of hte pokemons data like level and hex for it and attacks and stuff. |

But It's better if you add new pokemon too. The scripts... well you don't have to edit the scripts if you don't want to... (or if, like me, it's your first hack/you aren't too expert). The storie, sure. without storie you have no game |
