It was the Download 2004 festival. I didn't go but lots of people said Joey was a really good fill-in.

I used to love the murderdolls, I've got two copies of the CD, both singles, a hoodie and four t-shirts. Then I guess I grew out of it. I'm a really lyrical person and I found the lyrics to be really shallow.

Comparing some drum fills, based on purely technical ability... It wouldn't surprise me.

If you ever get a chance, there's one concert by Metallica you need to download. Lars couldn't play that night so Joey played most of the set for them. Then compare that to any other stock footage of Metallica you've got with Lars on drums.

You should be able to hear a bit of a difference.

Ziff, wite, let me get this straight.

Are you trying to tell me that Joey is a better drummer than Lars? Is that what you're saying?

Wednesday was in since the beginning, since many of the songs on the album are re-hashes of songs from his old band, Frankenstein Drag Queens.

I beleive that the first thing that actually happened in Murderdolls history was Joey telephoning Wednesday to ask him to meet him.

Indeed, I heard Wendsday orignally came in as the Bas player for the band while recording, and he didnt know the full members at the time, so I have heard. And I thought that guy in the music video "White Wdding" didnt look like Tripp, and I was like WTF?..Lol...He must be having a hell of a time with Static-X.

Actually, I believe that on the record it's actually Joey on the drums and guitar. They did that for the recording before they got Ben in for the live shows.

Ben is the drummer, but things were very different when the recording was made, apparently. By the time they came around to doing the cover art for the album, they had a complete band for the live shows.

For the later releases, like White Wedding, it's Acey on the guitar instead of Tripp, and Ben on the drums.

Lars is a most over-rated drummer. He is of average skills by any measure when compared to other drummers of the same styling. That said, the rock-metal stylings of Lars which is just heavy hitting cannot compare to the jazz discipline of people like Neil Perth.

Lars Ulrich (fuck yeah.)

While I mostly agree with you, I'm gonna have to call you on this one. Lars' playing on the albums doesn't represent his actual skill very well. If you've ever heard them try to play Dyer's Eve live, you can hear Lars constantly fucking up the double bass part. He comes up with some nice fills though... But I'm somewhat supsicious that Hetfield is telling him what to play at times.

To say that Joey is "good" at guitar is just ridiculous. He's good enough to be able to keep time and play chords, but he isn't really good by any means.

Xzion is banned now anyways, so I guess I'm a little late

They're ok, there are only a few songs I can listen to without cringing. They were really big among the teeny boppers in the UK, and Wednesday 13 did a stint in my local alt music club in Sheffield.

They're pretty cool guys. Ben even slugged it out with Dani Filth and threw him out of an awards ceremony in London, which practically anyone would appreciate

hmm Murderdollz are pretty good in my oppinion...dead in hollywood, white wedding, good songs... maybe a little to headbanging for my liking.. but i still listen to slipknot!

Compaing both i would say Slipknot are better.. but im not exactly giving a fair oppinion as ive heard more slipknot then murderdollz.

And i wouldn't say Joey is the best of drummers but he isnt bad!!!

Joey is still with Slipknot... I am not sure where the Murderdolls are going as of now since Slipknot just released their CD. I beleive you can see Joey in the Duality Music Video.

Just one? Ok. First name that comes to mind is Nick Barker of Dimmu Borgir. Actually, I don't think he's still with them anymore, but he was fucking awesome. He's a hell of a lot faster than Joey could ever be, and his beats just plain sound better, to me of course.

Just a few others that are better: Dave Lombardo, Paul Bostaph (I like Dave more), Mike Portnoy, Vinnie fuckin' Paul, Richard Christy, that one guy from Rhapsody, Lars Ulrich (fuck yeah.), Jimmy DeGrassio, Gene Hoglan, Daney Carey.

There's more, butr you get the point. And I must mention, it's not always about who's the fastest.

No, no no NO! Just because I don't care much for someone's music playing, doesn't mean I'm making fun of them. Let me give you an example.

Joey should stick his drumsticks up his ass, it would provide for much better entertainment and I'm sure he's much better at it.

There. THAT would be making fun of him.

Anyway, yes, I've heard that song as well as the rest of their songs. He simply is not what I would call a great drummer. You probably think he is because you only listen to a handful of bands. As for me, I've heard many and there's TONS of drummers better than him.

You: "That is saying that he isn't a good drummer"

Me: "but I think he's fairly average"

HmmmMMMMMmmmm?

Joey should just stick to drumming. That there is making fun of his guitar skills, which he does have. Mick Thompson toght him...
By the way, I think Joey is somewhat overrated when it comes to drumming and can be sloppy at times. That is saying that he isn't a good drummer, which is a major diss to Joey, because he is a great drummer...Have you ever heard Opium of the People?

The question still remains. How did I make fun of him?

Nuf said...I count three...1Joey should just stick to drumming. 2 By the way, I think Joey is somewhat overrated when it comes to drumming.3 but can be sloppy at times. That there was enough evidence...Meh it doesn't really matter I guess everyone has there own opinion...
