I got an idea; if there's a Gamestop around, then buy an old Nintendo for 20 bucks with smb and smb3 (they all have at least 5 copies of each =P), hide his xbox, or whatever the dick he plays and force him to play the NES instead. Back in my day, all we had was Super Mario World. And we liked it! Little sonofabitch whippersnappers... |

There's also the FFT Hard Mode code with GS and making custom characters with it (so you have a chance against the computers on Hard Mode - they have ALL their jobs mastered)
A lot of people think graphics are everything in games. And while I'd personally like to whap them over the head with a cactus, I find it more entertaining to just shrug and play SMB3 or something.

Hell, from what I know most young people I met actually like old games. But usually play them on emulator. 
And well, bad graphics can't be measured in polygons. I know games that looks alright with few polygons (Starfox), but there is also games using alot of them and still look awful. |

Some people suck at games. Duh. That's always going to be a constant. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. There's plenty of other people, myself included, that will gladly pick up the slack.
And if you disown your own kid over the fact that he can't play Super Mario Bros., you need shot. In the head. Several times.
Well if the punishment for having a kid who cant appreciate classic games is death, then I guess I wont have kids then, will I? |

No...it's not cultured more than just plain sucky.
And I wouldn't lose faith just yet...my sister could probably nail Colin in TA anyday...actually she could probably do that to quite a few of you I bet. Only 13, Grade 8...but heck...if she's getting her stuff from me now, I pity the fool who tries taking her on when she's my age now.

I agree with you about the GS thing. Well, if ya cant make him do anything, you are out of luck aside from hiding games from him or trying to tell him, neither of which will work. |

Hide his Gameshark (which i am sure he has) and make him play something with no codes. Play multi with invincibility on for 007. See if that is fun. |

Me and my mom are living at a friend of my mom's house right now and this kid is really getting on my nerves. He's in grade four and makes comments like:
"I dont like this game. It's too hard."
"That looks stupid" (in reference to Fable)
"Those graphics suck!" (ARGH! HE PLAYS GAMES FOR GRAPHICS!)
I have lost all faith in any other future generations... >.> If they dont like classic gaming, they probably would grow up to be merciless killers. He even plays James Bond with all cheats on... including invinciblity and invisibility and says it's more fun that way. Anyone know of how I can get him into some real games and to stop his "I like to cheat and play games for graphics" attitude? |
