Maybe I should take a look at what the electronics test actually does...

The thing I find strange, is that on the Mouse hardware test, it says not to move the mouse. I dont, but it always says failed because it was moving apparently. Weird.

Yeah...it's a good way to test your emulators' basic functions, too.

Damn, you learn something new every day. I've seen part of this, put into a separate rom. It was the controller test as a stand alone. It should make a good playground for anyone who wants to learn more about snes graphics and other finer points.

I really don't see any problem with posting this one, as it's just a console testing utility and not a commercial "game," sooo...

That made me laugh, good luck with that.

Kario, 2 or 3 paletes of it seem to be the standard smw paletes, and the rest can be done by using the unused sprite paletes that are available.

edit: actually all of them are the standard normal smw paletes, which is even better! ^ ^

Well, there is no SMW Beta Rom, but is it possible to find the SNES Test Rom?

Yeah, the "flat" perspective of the old sprite was perfect for an overworld sprite. They may have even used the exact same graphics until the overworld palettes were rearranged.

Did you notice that the scrapped Little Mario was edited into the overworld map Mario we see today, or atleast based off of it?

... and discovered in SNES test rom

It was a (development/troubleshooting) cart used by (Nintendo/retailers) to check (SNESes/accessories).

I can very safely say that there is no SMW beta ROM available (nor will there be one any time soon, if ever)

I was reading off some site a while ago about beta sprites, and just remembered what I found. I found this picture
.

Its got SMW3 style leaf/cape(tail) but its SMW. It mentions BMF in the credits and said that he found these in a SMW beta ROM. I have searched a few sites, but no beta rom. So is this downloadable anywhere? Im not asking for the d/l spot, I just dont want my searching to be a waste of time.

And does anyone else know of any SMW beta objects/sprites?
