Newbs never check the stickied threads. Do you remember first logging on and checking the stickied threads for anything? I sure don't. I was on for a while and never even clicked the stickied threads. Then I looked at the ExGFX Workshop when I was just waiting for something else to play...

Doesn't matter what, no newbie is going to bother to post in the sticky thread. They will possibly make a new thread so that people will post to it. If they even looked in the newbie thread and saw the answer, they would still make a new thread stating that they don't understand a solution (Example: Someone wants new graphics, sees that they have to make and insert ExGFX, they don't know what they are, make a new thread and complain they don't know...).

Closing every single post by a new person, and telling them to post in the sticky is a bit nazi-ish, and could lead to the new person feeling pissed off that their threads are being closed.

well, then thats the newb's loss. I say have the threads closed and tell them to post in the sticky. If they don't, again, thats their loss. It shouldn't be so hard to post in a sticky. I look at them all the time and it really is a great help.

Main problem I've noticed is that the system is practically set up so the least people get the information.

1. No one reads stickied threads. Even if you know they're useful, you just mentally block them out. Or at least, I do.

2. Useful nonstickied threads fall off too quickly in such a fast board.

3. Bumping is generally not allowed.

See the problem? =/

Then whats the point of having it there? Maybe the moderators here should close any help threads made and tell them to post in the sticky... I dont know it just seems like common sense to do that in the first place, it makes me wonder of the capabilities of the moderators sometimes....

I agree with Kyouji.

Even though there's a big sticky thread saying 'question and answers for newbies', people insist on making new topics instead of asking there

And if I need that thread, I'll use it too, instead of making a new one

Problem is, every newbie will skip over this thread, as they skip over the stickied threads.

I don't care if you all hate me for this, even though I did it once, but I have to say it.

There's a sticky thread for all of your help questions... its called the "Questions and Answers for Newbies"

Use this thread. There is nothing wrong with posting in a "newbie" thread.

Its just that when I come here, I want to see the threads that actually have to do with hacking the game. Not 28907 help threads. This thread is actually very helpful, I use it as well, and I don't consider myself a newb at all.
