My only comment is that you really should get rid of the symmetric sprites for waluigi standing still, that will differentiate it from most mario hacks immediatly.

Thanks everybody for the feedback, I'm glad that some of you got to try out my hack. I did put alot of time in this hack, I wanted to make this SMB hack special. I'm really glad that I got to know all you ROM hackers, your talents are what gave me the inspiration back in 2003 to start hacking. Each one of you have an art, whether you make hacks, editors & translations. I'm really glad that I can be a part of this family. Now more than ever I'll work hard on my other hacks.

Now, about the new enemies I replaced Bloober, the Pirahna plant, Spiny & Buzzy Beetle.

And just to let you guys know that I'm dumping my freewebs site, I made a site with Geo Cities now, so heres the link to my new site...

Heres the patch to Waluigi's Adventure...

If the files are still corrupt, e-mail me & let me know.

I saw the screens of course, and it looks like you followed the rule of making an Ultimate Hack: Creativity, Effort and Time. Awesome job. By sharing this hack with the world, you have shared your creativity with those who need it, and you have made yourself closer to the Rom hacking family. Googie is a winner, folks.

So, what "new enemies" are we talking about here? I'd play it myself, but I can't find a working SMB1 rom, and I'm not about to just ask for one (since ya know, rules).

I wanted to download this hack, but all I keep getting is a corrupted ZIP. I tried a few of the other hacks on your website also, and got the same result. (The only hack I could get downloaded was WC 2004, probably the only hack that uses Demolition )

He should be called 7uigi. Pronounced "sevenuigi." Just to make life hard for everyone. Also, consistency.

Ah. Really difficult. Challenges are nice, but try not to make hacks too damn hard. This one's borderline. Despite this, its got some nice level design . Good palette on Waluigi, yet he lacks the pink nose. Anyway, creative and fun overall.

God dang that's hard.

Mine is much more simple.

Nice music though, how did you do it?

It's Waluigi's Adventure. The upside down L can be found on Waluigi's cap. (Wario's cap have got Mario's "M" upside down, which becomes "W". Waluigi have got Luigi's "L" upside down.)

(Edit: I'm not 100% about the "war" + "mario" = "wario" thing, but it makes more sense than it coming from "warui, b/c the stem is "waru", to the best of my knowledge.)

I hadn't heard of a Waluigi until a while ago. I find it kind of odd that Mario's evil counterpart is Wario, which is a blend of the english "war" and Mario, whereas Waluigi is a blend of "warui" = bad, evil in japanese and Luigi.

With that upside down L on his hat, I want to call him Guigi, since that's the upper case greek gamma symbol. Strangely enough that sounds pretty close to Googie. Is this a conspiracy?

Trust me it's passable, I wanted to make this game as challenging as I can make it. As you play the game you'll see alot of tough situations, but they are not impossible to pass. I play through my hack at least once just to make sure that everything plays right.

Heh, I got the wrong dump patched
It was the NoTitle version, but everything messed up - need to search the right ROM first

Heh, the two new screens also looks neat; although it seems hard to come over the gap in the second new screenie

I have Mozilla Seaemu 9.3 English. I got the second one to work, played it. Couldn't beat 1-1 so I could only play two levels.

Both archives worked fine - Firefox 0.9.3 German on Windows ME

As for the hack, sadly, there are only two screens. I have yet to play it, but as for the two shown samples:
I like the new GFX, the koopas might have too "close" coulour in their pallette, but they are far better than the original ones. The question blocks are nice; what I'm wondering is that reversed "L" on the top of the screen - but as said, I'll post more after I played the game

Well here it is everybody, my 4th. SMB1 hack Waluigi's Adventure is complete! You'll notice a few changes in this hack that'll really stick out, like new enemies other changes. Here are 2 pics...

Download the patch here...

Use the SMB ROM without the title screen. Enjoy the hack
