Played it and instantly hated it. I did give it a chance (about an hour or two) and I just didn't like the gameplay or anything really about the game. I guess I didn't get far enough in for it to scare me, but then again Fatal Frame got me on the first little thing.

And Coby, thats one kickass machine!

Sadly you actually might have to play on low.

My friend has all of those but an ATI All in Wonder 9800 Pro card, with 512 DDR ram, 100gb HD, 3.0 ghz Processor, and well he couldn't play smoothly on High, or Ultra High, so he had to play on Medium. So my guess is with your lesser processor and graphics card, you might have to turn down some settings.

Still, even at Medium, this game still looks incredible.

Most of the things that you get scared of in Doom 3 is the enemies that jumps down from the roof or jumps in front of you from a corner...

They'd have rooms where enemies could hide around many different walls and gang up on you. (and tear you to bits if you weren't careful) Very nerve racking but nothing that would make me shit my pants.

Well, saying Doom 1 or Doom 2 didn't scare you isn't saying much, I played those games when I was like 5.

Plus, there's a huge difference in looks from Doom to Doom 3. lol

It's way too predicable to be scary if you ask me ... especially throughout the beginning of the game, I was almost unconciously running around and shooting monsters that would probably have *popped out of the corner*.

That whole appeal of a "scary game" just doesn't really appeal too me, if you want to play something scary why not play Fatal Frame?

Don't get me wrong though, Doom 3 is an incredibly awesome game, great gameplay, and has insane graphics. I bought it for that, not to "be scared".

Silent Hill is the only game that scares me a bit.
I still don't see how Doom can scare someone. It's like, NO EXISTENT ALIENS.

I got an AMD Athlon 3200+ 64 bit (OCed to 2.43 GHz)
1024 MB DDR RAM (400 MHz)
Radeon X800 PRO 256 MB (Core clocking at 113% (538 MHz) and RAM clocking at 120% (1085 MHz, note that this is DDR format, so divide the RAM clock by two to have the normal clocking speed)

0*0, No Quality, 0 FPS, because my system is crap.

Yeah it does scare me. :O The great graphics make it feel way more realistic and then when all of the sudden some zombie is right behind you when you turn around or some othe rmonsters comes running at you at high speed, you'll get scared.

I haven't played doom 3 but AvP used to scare the shit out of me, especially when you walk in a dark room totally on the edge after monsters and you hear this squeeschy sound all the time, getting louder and closer as more time passes and suddenly, BOOOOOM, you have a facehugger on you and you die instantly. Now that is pee-in-the-pants worthy.

Sounds like the type of scary game I'm looking for. Except I got to rent it for the Xbox though.

Any game can cause someone to jump out of their seat. Hell, when you're turning around a corner and don't expect a loud sound or a scary monster to jump out in front of you... Tell me you wouldn't just shrug.

It's quite simple, actually. It's a scary game...this one excels in it, obviously.

See and I used to make DOOM and DOOM II WADs in my spare time.
