Most of the Games released for Star Trek are good games but short...The Mods are what make the games!!!

Ive never played a star trek game in my life. I loved the original show with William Shattner as Kirk, but after that ended I stopped watching the series. |

It's a big issue....Activision and Taldren were the two main companys that produced all the Star Trek games....because of thier conflicts of interest....Taldren went out of buisness...for a while...and Activision didnt have the money to produce a new game alone. So the contract was just dropped...soon after Starfleet Command 3 came out...2 years ago? The fact that another game besides Elite Force and Bridge Commander is being made is alot of hipe in even non Trek worlds...
Also the game is going to have fan bassed ideas...on the StarTrek.com message boards a Online Gameing section has been added, and thier asking for suggestions...Not alot of smart idea's there...but thiers a few! |

Too be honest, i really don't care for star trek. i do like the occasional original star trek for the camp factor, like that episode with the living, but dying, intelligent rock blob creature. It gave leonard nemoy a chance to show his acting chops. not necessarily good chops, but still chops none the less.
this new game, however, sounds pretty huge! I don't do a lot of modern gaming, but i'm guessing this is fairly groundbreaking stuff. |

damn, awesome, this is one game I think I will pay actuall pay a monthly fee for......and since I swore never to pay a monthly fee for any mmorpg, you can tell I like star trek a hell of a lot...lol |
