I liked it though, finished watching a few days ago. The end was a bit surprising, with boyfriend being such an emotional clutz, but cute nonetheless.
I don't mind the rating it got or should've gotten, this was drama I actually enjoyed viewing  |

I would definitely NOT go by animenfo's ratings. They are really too lenient with it and just don't know what's good and what's not. |

An average of like 8.9 ranking higher than an average of 9.5, that is what bothers me  . (Any anime with 9+ is bound to be good btw). |

That's actually why I got the first 3 episodes, because it seemed so odd for smoochie anime to be at the top. And it had gotten alot of votes and positive reviews.
And whenever I looked it up, it scored high. |

I will never get over the fact that KGNE is #2 on the top100 at AnimeNFO. I'll watch is someday.. when that top list is corrected and One Piece is not on 39th but on 1st (or at least top5) where it belongs and KGNE is below it . I do have it though.. haven't heard too much good about it so I'm biding my time. |

You could compare this kind of anime to drama series such as Days of our lives, but somehow, it doesn't give me a huge headache when watching it.
The drawing style is very nice and clean to look at, with very good use of colors to convey the mood.
The characters are animated decent, and the voice acting's good. No one has a voice that makes you want to scream. The music isn't anything too special, but it fits the series and usually only strengthens the mood.
The story itself is something that could happen to anyone, fairly simple, but brought in a very fitting manner.
A summary:
The whole thing starts off with Haruka, a normal girl who's in love with a classmate of her best friend. They slowly hit it off together and do some couply stuff.
It gets clear pretty fast that Haruka's friend is kinda crushing on the same guy, but wants to be the better woman by hiding how she feels and leave it at that for Haruka's sake, even though she does come on to him every now and then when Haruka's not around.
One of such ocasions is her birthday, in which she drags boyfriend ( I suck at remembering names, so bear with me) to buy her a small gift.
He notices he's getting late for his date with Haruka and rushes off, only to find out something terrible happened.
The series then makes a jump to the future, 3 years later (which is the present time), to show how every character is dealing with the event that changed the course of their life 3 years ago.
I don't know why, but this is something I highly recommend watching. All of the characters have something that makes you feel for and with them.
Boyfriend, who is sort of the main character, can drive you insane with his stupid choices and ways of dealing with things. But if you see how he spent the first of those 3 years, you'd want to comfort him, and some of his choices and actions become more understandable.
Haruka's friend is the character I sympathise most with. she gets the mental beating over and over, and frankly, I'm surprised she hasn't commited suicide yet.
Haruka's younger sister goes through things in such an understandable way that I don't think she could've been created any better.
The two waitresses that work at the same place as boyfriend are supposed to lift the sometimes very serious mood. They tend to get annoying, but it seems atleast one of them is getting fleshed out a bit more at the episode I'm at. (9 out of 14)
If you are intrested in watching this, beware that the first two episodes are not up to the standard of the rest of the series.
If you greatly disliked them, it gets better, and if you really liked them, it gets alot more serious. Keep that in mind.
I don't know if it got licensed, nor under which name if it did, but since fansubbers released it about a year ago, it might be hard to come by.
At any rate, this is enjoyable eyecandy at worst.
(I found out today that this is based on a hentai game, or atleast, the characters are taken from a hentai game. That might explain the pictures you find regularly if you look for em XD) |
