It's a great set, but what's sad is that whore Courtney Love refused to let the rest of the unreleased songs from the "You Know You're Right" sessions from 1994 be on the box set.

A thing that REALLY pissed me off about the set though was that they didn't release the final versions of Even in his Youth (sounds more Nevermind-ish), and I Hate Myself and I Want To Die (the final version that was on the Beavis and Butthead Experience CD is SUCH an awesome song, the one from the boxset DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE to how good the final version was... same for Moist Vagina), also WHY didn't they release the radio version of Old Age, where Kurt was actually understandable... and lastly no Spank Thru! The studio version kicked ass. ...

However there are pretty good parts of the boxset however... Rubbing Alcohol in it's own track (instead of being a hidden track after All Apologies in In Utero), VERSE CHORUS VERSE'S STUDIO VERSION, Talk To Me's video on the DVD, as well as the original Sappy on the DVD which was awesome to watch that clip in better quality compared to the bootlegs I've had. Also I enjoyed the acoustic Dumb, Rape Me, and Do Re Mi was a freaking acoustic anthem!

If anyone wants to final version of I Hate Myself and I want to Die, look in my profile for contacts.

Yeah, it's fucking awesome. I really like Sappy, and I HEART the Rape Me solo acoustic.

I am definitely excited about this set . I love Nirvana, though I really haven't had a chance to really get into them yet. I look forward to getting this set and really learning about the band . I'm kinda playing catchup, seeing as how I grew up in a shielded Christian household for the first 10 years of my life .

EDIT: And I dunno about anyone else, but I love rough-sounding recordings and stuff; it adds an eerie quality to everything.

Yeah, I love the raw sound of the CDs and the DVDs. Though, I guess the fact that it is made this way makes it for those with a special interest. Not the best thing to learn to like Nirvana with, but for someone who's been a fan for quite some time, it's great.

Lol, for a second I thought Legion had hacked in a new thread or something. But yeah Nirvana was a kickass band for its time. I just wish wherever I go they would play less "Smells like teen spirit." They have other songs, people.

I have it as well. I must say that there's a lot of great stuff on there, but the best part is the fact that it's all raw as hell, IE DGC didn't go and clean up the tapes any. It's nice to hear the songs in all their raw glory.

And of course the DVD kicks your face in as well.

[03/02/05 04:06:09 pm] <windwaker> can I bump a thread? ;D
[03/02/05 04:06:16 pm] <windwaker> I don't want to start a new one
[03/02/05 04:06:27 pm] <max> yes

Now that this is out, who has it? ;D

It rocks, I just love the sheer amount of great music on here. Solo acoustic's of some of their best songs (Lithium, Polly <3), plus great original songs (Mrs. Butterworth).

They could easily compile 50 unrleased songs. There are tons of bootlegs out there of Nirvana-songs that have never been released on any CDs. This seems great, though it is kind of inconvenient to me. Now I have to make a choice, this or the Definitely Maybe 10-year aniversary DVD?

Well that sounds pretty cool. Except the price for this would probably a little outrageous though.

They're probably not full songs in the sense of the word.. it's probably like ideas they had and were working with.
Whether or not that's so, this is still uwnage. I'm really curious as to what the price for this will be though.

Sounds pretty cool, although I wonder how much of it is truly new material that hardcore fans don't already own.
