Haha, I remember that song with Ja Rule and Ashanti. I forgot what it was called . I think it was..aww damn I can't remember but I liked the song because of Ashanti .

Yeah, Outkast is funk mixed with a bunch of other stuff. I don't have their newest CD but I'll get it one of these days.

Wu Tang Clan? I don't think I've heard much from them either. Just Method and Red..they have a new CD. I listned to a little big at Virgin Megastore, I'd buy it if I had money .

Oh, and let me reiterate: DEAD PREZ. If you watch Chappelle's Show, their song "Hip Hop" plays when he walks out onto the stage (after the bit where he tosses the busker some change). Everyone who knows anything of them loves them (but the idiots hate him, which is why they're idiots).

Dead Prez are really extremly good, like I said before. The mixtapes or their new album don't even come close to their first album though :/

Bella: Same thing with me. I still didn't believe it until they actually rolled the credits.

Bleh, I forgot Wu tang Clan and Ice Cube. I haven't heard him in ahwile since that song back when Friday After Next was out. That movie he was in reminded me of him. He had some good songs back in the day .

LL Cool J's new song I like too "Headsprung" but at first I didn't know it was him well until I saw the video or they said who the artist was, one of those .

I dont mind some rap in terms of the beat, and sometimes good music...But never for the lyrics.....

But it's not my favorite category...So i have no suggestions!

Yes, I agree on Outkast being the greatest thing since sliced bread. The double album is awesome, but their previous stuff is great too. Like ATliens. Andre 3000 reminds me of George Clinton and Prince, which is probably why I like his songs more than Big Boi's. Sometimes I think Andre's gonna have this huge successful solo career and Big Boi's gonna be the Andrew Rigeley of the group.

Personally, I like the rap from the 80s like Run DMC. You really should put on a pair of Adidas and crank up their version of "Walk This Way." Word on The Beastie Boys being great too. They're the best at sampling. I've been meaning to get Paul's Boutique because I read rave reviews about it everywhere.

I like Eric B Rakim and Kool Moe Dee. Salt n Pepa's a great group. Ahhhh Push it real good!

Oh and Wu Tang Clan kicks all kinds of ass.

I like a lot of rap, but I don't like the stuff that's too violent or hateful. I mostly like rap songs that are about girls, parties, or club songs, even though some of them are redundant, they can be very catchy. I like LL COOL J's new song "Headsprung". Also, humorous rappers are good, such as Eminem and Ludacris.

Personally, I hate the new rapper Lil' Scrappy for some reason. Just by looking at his video and hearing his song he seems very sadistic.

They're interesting, but I dunno. I'm looking for something with...I dunno, nasty beats, that really are kicking, but not stupid ass lyrics to go with it.

I know I said this already, but I am serious about the Blackalicious. Try "Deception" or "Do this my way" or pretty much anything else off Nia.

Blackalicous is good..but I haven't heard much of it. Mob Deep is okie too. I forgot about them, I was watching some stuff on MTV..but I kinda forgot what Mob Deep sounds like . I haven't heard them in so long.

Uhm, "Gasoline Dreams" reeks of the best parts of Public Enemy, so I'll recommend that song.

I, um, like the two really well known Outkast songs (BOB and Hey Ya)... yeah. I should sample some more, actually. Anyone got any other Outkast song recommendations?

Rap, rap is good. It's what I've listened to since I was a little one. There's good and bad. Do not listen to Lil John and the Eastiside Boys well that song "Get Low" I hate..just completely throws it off. And any other song that has that dirty south feeling to it. There's a few good ones like that song "Goodies" The late spur of southside rappers just..isn't good. I like Nelly, I've always have. "My Place" is good. Ludacris is decent but I just like him for his beats and a few other things. It's just for me..that it doesn't take me much to like a rap song but for others a lot of things come into play. Depends on what you'd want to hear. A lot of rappers have their good songs and bad. Ja Rule is just..shit. I used to like him a few summers ago until I heard some things about him.

I'd recommend..

Jay-Z
Kanye West
Notorious BIG
Tupac
Outkast
Eve (Eh, she's good to a certain extent. I like her more than Lil Kim).
Mos Def (Has good flow, good beats)
Nas
Talib Kweli
Tribe Called Quest
Eminem
Twista (He was in the Guiness Book of World records for quickest rapper)
Busta Rhymes
LL Cool J
Bone Thugz N Harmony
Black Eyed Peas (Has some decent songs)
Dialated Peoples
Baby Bash (Sugga Sugga was a nice song )
NB Ridaz

And of course: Dr Dre, Snoop and a few others I didn't mention that I can't think of

The videos I just watch for fun. Rap is going downhill but I'll always like it. Not all of it will always be negative. Postive and negative artists will come and go.I haven't been listening to much American rap..I've actually been listening to spanish rap..yep.

Done and DONE!

Alright, now for my two cents. Rap certainly was very good when it originated, but since then it's gone through a serious downfall. Way back when in the 80's, it was more than just "bling bling and bitches".

Ugh, but since then it's all about who's the "hardest" even though I'm sure most of them are just pussies. And I can't watch rap videos. For the past...however long it's been, it's been nothing of 2-4 minutes of the artist(s) showing off how much money the have while having women dance around in practically nothing.

The monotony is killing me.

There still is somegood rap out there though. The first name that comes to mind is Outkast. They've always stayed true to themselves and do the music they want to do, not the music they think people will want. Their music actually sounds good. Imagine that.
It's not the same crap over...and over...and over again. And they're even known to use a guitar here and there. Most notably, the last part of B.O.B.

And even better, their videos are actually interesting. I remember seeing "Hey Ya" for the first time and thinking "Whoah....this is...different". It was such a fresh breath of air.

And of course the Beastie Boys have always been great. No question there. I still laugh every time I see the "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" video.

I don't think I've heard any Tribe Called Quest songs but a good friend of mine claims that's his favorite rap group ever.

MC Hawing, hell yeah. And let's not forget Lord of the Rhymes too.

I'm actually feelin' Common. Kept the whole Native Tongue ideal alive to the heathens through the mid- to late-90's.
