i think photoshop settings change according to the type of image you have currently in memory or on the clipboard. It is hard to imagine after 8 versions of photoshop, that this bug appears...

Eh, don't worry, mine changes it's resolution on me randomly too. And the color settings.

I *never* voluntarily use anything other than RGB color, but sometimes I will start a new document and discover that for whatever reason, it's created it in Greyscale or CMYK.

I think Photoshop has a mind of it's own.

maybe because your printer is 300 dpi? must be an old printer if it is 300 dpi...

yeah, resolution makes a big difference in how big you need to set your fonts to be. If you are making images for the internet, then 72 dpi (dots/pixels per inch) you want to use. Otherwise, you should set the dpi to be equivalent to what your printer resolution is.

i think you have an issue with the resolution of your image. When you create a new image, check underneath the dimensions of width and height and you should see what i'm talking about. Many times (for whatever reason) my resolution would start at 1 . not very fun when i get 75% done with making an image to realize my text will be fucked. I can't check for certain right now (virus just attacked photoshop), but i think that might be it.

Anyway, i think the standard resolution, at least for me, was 72. Try that next time, it might work.

This belongs here right?

Well, whenever I use photoshop, it seems like randomly the font sizes are messed up. They're MUCH larger than what they should be. Like, a size "4" is the equivilant to a size "16" everywhere else. But sometimes, the sizes are normal. I thought it was random, but lately it's always been at the freakish size. This is a problem because when I go below size four, the sizes decrease dramatically until it hits one. I know there are fraction sizes, but I shouldn't have to do that at all.
What's causing this, and how can I get it to be normal again?
And no, I am not zoomed in on the image.

I just remebered, another problem I have sometimes is that I will be typing, and then I won't be able to use the spacebar. It just doesn't work. I have to leave the text thing and return for it to work. This is much minor, but I thought I would toss it out there anyway, just in case.
