Use the ' import to library ' function in Flash MX, pick your pic ( ) and in its properties, set the alpha to 50%, hope this helps

Hm... It seems like Flash doesn't support PNGs... :/
*Tests some more* Woohoo! GIFs works. I hope that it's enough.

Yes, PNG has transparency. Not just colour/transparent either, you can set the opacity for each pixel.

Nope. The normal editing tools won't work.

Also, PNG have got built in transparency? Gotta test.

I think SH is talking about using the alpha-transparency property in  Flash, not the transparency of the image itself. However, if all he wants to remove is the white space, you should be able to remove that with the basic flash image edting tools.

Did you use transparency in the PNG itself?

I've never used Flash before, but I think that's what Sephiroth was talking about...

Nope, there's still no transparency.

Why BMP? Shouldn't it be easier to convert them to PNG?

I've finally got Flash MX 2004 and have learned the most basic functions. However, I've got a problem. I have got a few BMPs that I would like to use in the movie. The only way that I found to do this was to use good ol' Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Yes, the BMP is in the movie, but I can't find any way to set it's transparency color. That means that I have got this annoying white square behind the pictures, driving me insane. So... Here's my question: How to import a BMP and use a color as transparency?
