Call of Cthulhu is so much fun. I have no sanity right now

Near it? I've gone through two characters already in my current one. In fact, my current character (fifth level bard) died technically, but the DM allowed me to stay alive since it was quite obvious that nobody would do something as stupid as I told my character to do. Since then we enacted a special rule: Any character below fifth level gets a second chance when he dies; a piece of Deus Ex Machina from the DM will save his life once. That's it. It's a buffer because although me and my friends are all very intelligent, we're not smart in the least.

I admit it, I have played DND before. My first character was a Halfling Rogue named Shino Shadefoot. (Sound familiar? I use a similar character in the Sim Battle Forums).

My friends and I are trying to get things started again, but I'm not sure if I want to continue with Shino, or if I want to make a new one.

So how many of you here play Dungeons and Dragons, or some other PNP RPG? I personally dabbled in 2nd ed. D&D, but I've also experimented with GURPS and Werewolf. So come at it, share some stories of weird stuff that happened in your campaigns, or just talk about the rules if you want. I'm sure nobody would mind hearing about RPG systems you've developed in the past or are currently working on, either.
