Oh, ok. You should still give it a try anyway. At first, I thought there'd be no way to work without the gfx, but you do get used to it. You should start now, because it's definitely going to be a very long time before the graphics are loaded, if ever. You'll be missing out on a lot . If not, oh well, less competition for me .

Keikonium, hacking YI without the gfx appearance becomes kinda simple once you get used to it. You just need some time to it, I'm getting used to it, I made level one in 4 days, so it is not so much problem

Great YI rips you made, btw. Will this be on your smw hack??

No,no no. What I mean is I probably wont start hacking YI until eggvine shows YI graphics. I just can't work with the wireframe boxes. I LOVE YI graphics. I wont be using new graphics for a hack if I make one either. I could NEVER make graphics as good as the YI ones. I think that there will be people who rip SMW graphics and use them in YI tho...

Ya, I was thinking about getting some clouds in there. I made all of these (except 2) about a week ago, so they really haven't been touched in a while. I just made an exact palette copy of each BG from YI> SMW. I also assembeld the BG exactly as they appear in YI.

Thanks for the complements I will start YI hacking when the Eggvine program gets graphic loading. I have some cool ideas in mind for it I love cave levels and forest levels

They all look really nice, I can't wait to see it in action. I just would recommend changing the black BG of the happy hills set, something more bright and vibrant to go along with the rest of the BG.

Okay, I whipped up a small portion of the stoney castle set. I really hate assembling it Its a real pain...

Very nice...that tileset you were talking about was used often throughout world 3. I can't wait to see what it looks like in SMW.

I ripped the soney castle tileset and am using it in my my SMW hack. As soon as I asemble a level I will load a shot. I also ripped a set that I love. Its got stone blocks with moss green stuff on them. Its used in...some levels in world 3. I think the end of the harry the hedgehog level. I can upload a shot of the level with the mountain face BG, and a few others in a few minutes.

Those large fire guys (Sparkies) were used once, very briefly in 1-4. When you go in the shyguy pipe, a few are in there. It's a shame they weren't used too often, but I wanted to use them in my level. If you think those were really rare, the original game had only 1 blindfold boo, which I used throughout my 1-8.

Wow, you ripped the tileset from my screen? I'd like to see a screen of it .

There is an unused Bullet Bill shooter, which launches red bullet bills that seek you somewhat. It was used in a new level in the GBA remake, but not in the original.

This is amazing!!! I find Eggvine hard to use, but I guess thats just me. I really have to see the graphics to make a hack which sucks bet I work visually...

Anyway, can't wait for a demo of this hack!! I have never seen those large fire guys you have in the 2nd shot...what level are they in in YI? They remind me of a boss in SMB2.

Also, I just ripped what you call "stone castle" and am using it in my SMW hack Im also useing the set, and BG in my hack that you have in the post with the single screen shot.

One question: Has anything been found in YI data, object or sprite wise, that was never used in the game but someone is using it in there hack?

Yeah, I finally realized I was using the wrong ROM to patch . Sorry guys...but don't worry, I do have the correct ROM this time...so all will be good. By the way, I could use one more beta tester. Cpubasic and Kirby ATW are already 2, and I need 1 more. First one to jump at the chance gets it. Ready, set, go!

I hope you've fixed your issues with the IPS. I just tried demo 1 on what is apparently a European 1.0 Yoshi's Island. (I hate it when they're unlabeled.) It had English, French, and German language select on startup, red/yellow/green/blue buttons on the Control select button, and bold text...
When I patched it, I ended up with an almost total conversion, taking away Language Select, turning the control pad buttons back to shades of purple, and un-boldening the text!

It's just a play of words with "Lollapolooza" (hope I spelled that correct). I dropped the "Lolla" and added "Goomba".

I just realized there are several rarities in that screen. The goombas were only used in 4-1, that was a shame. Also, I only recall that BG from 1-3 and 3-8, so that's also rare. The FG was only used in the 4-8 boss room, and the green toadies were used occasionally in world 6. I haven't realized the amount of rare things I used 'til now .
