Or you can change it via 8x8 tile editing, but I really don't recommend this. Also at ExGfx you can try use Super Graphics Bypass and put the graphics file at the last box in "Super GFX Bypass" option (or the red poisonous mushroom). This is the box to you use animated tiles here. Remember that when you put a new graphic to the block it will not works for all levels, just that which have the same tilesets. You can use too other animations to a same tile. Like the pirhana black plant, you can use it as a original black pirhana black plant graphics and as SMB3 small pirhana plants at the same time. To do it you have to take the tile you want and change its behaviour to the same as is the black plant. Hope this last part answer some future question.

EDIT:Yes it works. In this case LM will save the graphics to the current GFX that is in using. Before do it extract all GFX. When you save you changes re-insert the graphics.

Oh BTW, ALWAYS make sure you hit F9 in the 16x16 editor when editing graphics. This will save any 16x16 editor changes that you make

F9 to save probably works for 8x8 editor too right?

For that you must either use:

1. The graphics that are already in the game, just editing palettes or what ever.

2. ExGFX to have brand new graphics in the game.

For the second one, refer to your topic about ExGFX insertion and follow the steps you should find in the ExGFX Workshop thread. What kind of graphics do you want the block to have? Smashable Brick? Frozen coin? What ever it is, make your own graphics or rip them from another game. I wont get into ripping because I am pretty sure that it is covered in the noob questions thread.

i got the tile working, but it's still a 4 small blue blocks stuck together. How do I edit them so they look like the block?

Be carefull. Some blocks you add may have the behaviour changed. In case of Smashable Brick, it must acts like 130. You can do this by open 16x16 editor and choose "edit 16x16 atributes". Remember that if you get an tile that already exists to your block, the block will behave like the object of the tile you have choosed. Sometimes if you add the block and put the tile later, with the behaviour changed, it does not works correctly, so you must insert the custom block again. Try do one of these things.

never mind, I got it working, but the problem is, when I play the game, i inserted the block into a level to test it. Mario has a block around him and is invincible. The block I created doesn't show up, and when I get a mushroom, Mario flies up with the block animation when it breaks . The block doesn't work I wonder if it messed up because I played around with it too much before. I'll get another rom and try it.

The box of BT? Sorry. In this case you must know which decimal number is C7. Put it on calculator and change to decimal. It will show 199. 199=C7. If was this, Keikonium have already say this. If not I don't know what you're talking about.

It is at the Add Objects window. Just open it and choose the option.

so that's how you do it, thanx a lot
question: Where is the map 16 thing?
Is it the editor, or the Add Object Window?

Whats probably confusing you is the fact that block tool uses decimel numbers instead of hex.

1. Open block tool, and go to file > open to open your ROM.
2. Click add block and add what ever blocks you want to add.
3. Open up windows calculator (or a real calculator) and open up LM.
4. Now go to page a page of the Map16 (3-F) and hold your mouse over a square.
5. There will be a hex # in the bottom left of the screen that you need to typr into the calculator under the hex format.
6. Now click the decimal format on the calculator so the number changes.
7. In block tool type that # in the Map16 box that is at the bottom of the screen where you chose what block you want.
8. Go to file > save
9. Close LM and open it again. Go to the page of Map16 the block was to be put on, and hold your mouse over the blue square that you held it on before. It will pop up with a tooltip message you havent seen before explaining the block.
10. Hopefully that works.
