Um, I hope this isn't considered a bump...

I emailed a link to this thread to my brother, and well, he was suprised at all of the good comments...

Apparently he has done some SMW hacking lately, (if you consider March 2004 as lately), and there are some changes to levels/ the overworld he has made that I have not seen... (Blue Switch Palace, a new level called "Road to the Stars", a multi-exit Choco-Ghost House, etc)... apparently he also fixed many of the overworld glitches I found, and he has even renamed the levels (to some extent).

So, now that you guys have re-kindled his interest in SMW hacking, he might work on his hack a little more. Give yourselves a pat on the back!

This newest update will (or should) not affect your savestates. I'm not sure about the other updates, though

MMmmoohkay, this shouldn't effect our savestates will it, assuming the overworld is the same?

Another Update: 8/26/2004: Blue Switch Palace is now completed.
I didn't remember that this level was incomplete in my first test run. I took the time to design 3 of the missing parts (castle, ghost house, underground)

I dont see why you should feel stupid. People make mistakes.
I played the hack. Good use of original mario GFX, and good LD. GJ!

I'll get it right eventually!

The FOURTH RELEASE in TWO DAYS fixes another glitch I accidentally created. I accidentally removed a piece of overworld path, screwing up Vanilla Dome. Download it again please.

Its amazing to see a hack that doesnt use ExGFX. Its even rarer to find one that is a good hack .

Its pretty good. The slight additions to the OW are refreshing, and the level design is just fine. Not too hard and not too easy. I have to say that even though it was constructed a while ago... Its nearly perfect.

Your brother deserves a lot of credit.

He's not exactly an active rom hacker anymore. He occasionally downloads hacks (last one I remember was DW:TLC... wait, I had to give him that one on CD-R)

Sorry folks, you should DL it yet again... when I fixed the first glitch, I inadvertantly created yet another one. When I fixed the second one, the first came back AGAIN! Now, it should work fine. Hopefully. I also fixed the Ghost House Issue in Vanilla Dome.

By the way, Mega Luigi (and all others), this is NOT MY HACK. I stated at the beginning that this is my brother's hack. I just participated in "touching it up"/glitch fixing.

The game looks good. I noted that you have added a level in the small lake (before the yellow switch palace). Good job!

Maybe it wasn't the Final release; I discovered an Overworld Glitch.

Anyway, DL should be fixed now, same link:

It's a nice remix of Super Mario World and it's not impossible to beat levels, which is nice.

I have played a few of this game and the title is a good idea to the levels. This can be the Super Mario World Lost Levels.

Well, I found this SMW Hack on an old CD-R, and well, I thought I'd release it. This is my brother's hack, and he has given up hacking (to my knowledge), so he doesn't mind me releasing this... (he'll probably never know I released it anyway!)

Just for looks, I touched up the Title Screen + Demo Level, Credits, finished a few levels, and fixed a mall glitch in the overworld map.

NOTE: This is most likely the FINAL Release. A lot of the game is incomplete, but what is done is scattered all throughout the game... If you come to a level that is the same as the original, keep going, because there is probably more new content to come.

If you discover a major glitch, contact me (jeffreymroberts@hotmail.com) and I'll think about making another release. Also, if you would like to take on an unchanged level, let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Who knows, maybe this game might get 100% finished after all!

NOTE 2: This is a LEVEL/OVERWORLD HACK ONLY! If your looking for ASM Hacks, new GFX, etc., look elsewhere. However, in my opinion, the level design is quite well done, so you may enjoy this game anyway...

A new spin on an old level.

Classic 1-3, sort of.
