I've got it fixed now. Yes, they work in vertical levels, but the problem seemed to be also that I left it as a vertical layer 2 level (it used to be a shifting stone block room, but I no longer had a moving second layer). Between that and fixing the ground, it works perfectly now.

Do those triangles even -work- in vertical levels? I've never seen one in one...

You have to set the tile underneath the triangle block to 1EB, that's it.

There is a block that has to be underneath it, but usually you just run through it, you don't die.

I've got most of the levels in my hack finished, and encountered a problem in Bowser's Castle. I''ve kept the old "room 1-4 + room 5-8" layout, but changed the rooms themselves. Room 6 is a dark vertical cave room, where most of it is comprised of running up various walls with the help of the purple triangle blocks. The problem is that when I test it out, I run toward the triangle and when Mario reaches the top, he doesn't continue up the wall. Instead, he stands up inside the wall and dies. Is there a specific way I have to place the triangles and the ground around them to get them working correctly, or do they require some sort of specific level type or something?
