Gaia would be more of an action/RPG since it's realtime and all. Basically like Mana/Seiken Densetsu 3. |

illusion of gaia is a nice snes rpg (although, it is more of an adventure)
I'd say Mario rpg too... but you already have it
also, i'd recommend Secret of Evermore, it isn't as bad as some make it out to be. |

I'm surprised no one said Secret of Mana or Super Mario RPG (although, I have it...) |

Oh yeah, but really, who wants to void the warranty of their X-Box? It works fine the way it is.
We have computers to pirate games. We have X-Boxes to play ones that don't like computers. |

So does any next-gen system not made by Sony, actually.
Then again, if you were really crafty you could play a *TON* of games on your Xbox through a mod chip, some emulators and a bit of config file tweaking. |

Sudeki isn't too bad. It just has a crappy storyline...
Really the XBOX has a big void (currently) for RPGs.
Just get an emulatrix and some Romz0rs to play all of those gooey classical bad ass RPGs on the SNES and NES. Or if you're really fancy, get a PSX emulator and get disc images then play them on your PC. I do that |

Yes, DW7 is good but he wasn't asking for PSX games.
I'd think that if you want to play Dragon Warrior 1/2, you should go for the GBC combo cart instead. But 2 is certainly playable for the NES and fun - just a wee bit cheap at times. |

Oh, awesome man! Thanks a lot for that patch link, I've been wanting to play Rudras for awhile. And I found Live a Live too. That's another one you could try, I know I'm going to.
As for Morrowind, that one belongs to the kind of audience that can stand needlessly long travelling times and fighting the same annoying monsters over and over again. However, the exploration element in it is top notch, you could play it religiously for over a year, like I did, and still not find everything. Searching ruins, collecting awesome equipment (some of which you cannot use because you're a giant kitty...), and beating up random people definitely has its charm. |

Also, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, is a good RPG for Xbox (you can get it for PC, too). It's very non-linear, and you can do nearly anything you want, including killing random townspeople, and the guards that help protect them.
Also, for SNES, there's a very good Squaresoft RPG called Rudora no Hihou (Treasure of the Rudra). You'll need an IPS patch to play it in English, but it's a great game. The Magic system is incredible (You can make spells, called Mantas, by making words). If you want, you can get the IPS patch from Ghideon Zhi's site |

As mentioned, Earthbound is a lot of fun, once you get enthrolled in the plot. Mother(Only in Japan) is a good game too, NES Earthbound, but you won't obtain that one legitamitely. |

You can't go wrong with Dragon Warrior. 3 and 4 are both good picks for the NES, or you can get 5/6 for the SNES with IPS patches. |

Not to mention it started the BADASS feature of automatically destroying enemies when you could kill them in one hit. |

Clockworkz, Legion is 100% correct in every way. Earthbound is just as good as, possibly greater, than Chrono Trigger and FFIII. It's so funny and freaky and well done, there's no way you can go through it without thinking some small portion of it, even if the rest of the game is crap in your eyes, is genius.
As a side note, it's one of the few RPGs in existance that has bathrooms! You can't USE them, but they're definitely there! |

Lufia 2 for the SNES is a good pick. Maybe difficult to find nowadays, but...
And if you need help in Earthbound (if you get it) - doubtful you'd have trouble, but it could happen - just ask me. Beat the game twice, I did.
I don't know of that many SNES RPGs... or NES... or XBox.. |

Clock, you can some alternate rpg done by fans HERE
This site is brazilian, but you just need to click in the title of a game and follow the d/l links and mirrors. Its not that hard. If you want help w/ translation from Portuguese (which's my mother tongue) to English you can contact me at MSN or AIM and I'll help, but I think it is not necessary, you can deduce your way through the site very easily |

X-Box: Star Wars: KotoR
Seriously, you don't even have to like Star Wars to enjoy this excellent RPG. It kicks all kinds of asses.
Or if you want to wait, Fable is coming out soon and it's suppose to be a godsend.
And have you played Earthbound yet? For Snes? |

FF4 (Cecil's adventure) is great too, almost as good as C Trigger |
