Just got back from seeing it. I actually liked it, believe it or not. I thought it was worth the money, at least.
SPOILERS.................
I thought the Human alliance with Predator was a cool turn. Sure, some of the things may not have made too much sense, but I paid to see Aliens fight Predators, not for all the blah blah blah.
The whole marking / mutual respect angle was pretty cool too. Plus, she got that kickass spear at the end...

I don't want to waste my money on it. So I'll see it when it comes out on video/DVD like usual. The "Vs." movies tend to suck to me..but hey that's just me. I'd see it if it was free and if I was bored. |

Saw it.
I want my $ 5.00 back.
It is basically a C average action movie.
It was intriguing to watch certain scenes of that movie especially with a human and the Predator involved, but overall it generally sucked (The movie not the Predator)

Am I the only person who thought that the Predator and that chick were going to high five at one point in that movie?
Human: "Kick ass"
Predator: "Hell yea. Raise the roof"

Also, that scene where the Predator takes off his mask and makes those scars on the girl's face...yeah at first it looked like a kissing scene.

Noooo, CGI was clearly present everywhere throughout the movie. I'm not sure where you're getting your facts from, but I'm guessing it's straight from your ass.
The metric system does use multiples of ten, and if I'm not mistaken those civilizations* did use the metric system. Minutes, however, have nothing to do with the metric system. Not to mention that the character's logic was pulled completely out of thin air anyway.
Don't get me wrong. I liked the dramatic fight scene. That is, frankly, what I expected. That flying acrobatic kick the predator does at the end? Cheesy and cool, just the way I like my action movies. The rest of the action sequences consisted of staring into a character's frightened bunny eyes (and just by looking into those, you can detect the growing urine stain in their pants) until the character... suddenly... is KILLED! WOW WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. They aren't killed very impressively, ever. The only other good action scene was with the predator and the series of aliens where he kicks ass (not the one with the shoulder cannon, the one with the blade).
Anyway. I thought the movie sucked and it pissed me off, so that's what I wrote. This is a discussion thread on the movie, is it not? If you don't like the way I stated my opinion... well, you could complain to someone who cares (not me), but I'm not sure you'd have much of a case.

This "first civilization" turned into the aztec, egyptian, and cambodian societies, right? So obviously, when you split a society into three pieces, each piece takes away a third of the alphabet/lexicon and a third of the distinctive building styles, and doesn't get to use the others. It's a good thing they had such a redundant language that could be split into three parts without each part missing a lot. |

First, when they said "The metric system uses multiples of ten, therefore the temple reconfigures every ten minutes" They stated before that it was useing the Aztec (spell that right???) calender and metric system, so i havent even looked at the Aztec math system so i cant say for sure...you refrence me to a site about it...I will read up on the subject....
Second, yes you can have your opinion...Facts will get you further than opinion will yes, but i took total offense and insult by the way you stated your "opinions" in your first post....And what was so murder-ously wrong with the fight scenes???? The fight at the end, was pretty over Dramatic but the rest were fine...Or maybe you just didnt like the fact that the fight sceens (besides the end) didnt use CGI, i can understand...alot of people in the world have been ruined by the always notable CGI (Good or Bad) |

You seem to have misunderstood me. I like action movies, and if they're good I don't care if everything else about them sucks. My point was, the action in this movie sucks as well, thus making it worthless as an action movie. And I think everybody in the room figured out that I was posting my opinion, but thanks for pointing that out.
Now. I know Alien and Predator have been related in the past. This has produced things I've liked, such as the first AvP game on PC. It's also produced things I don't like, such as the second AvP game on PC. I am not a stranger to the series. I don't think it's beyond my comprehension. What exactly is beyond my comprehension in this movie? The fact that "The metric system uses multiples of ten, therefore the temple reconfigures every ten minutes" (total bullshit)?
Anyway. My point is, I LIKE the series involved. Which is why it pisses me off that they fucked up the movie. But hey, as you pointed out, that's just my opinion. Alien and Predator are both from the same Franchise....They have been doing comics, books, games for years but none of that was cannon matterial until this movie!
I trully dont care if you liked it or not, your opinion! And yes it's primarily and action based movie, but what i like about it...and most other sci-fi Is the "Possibile Idea". Nothing wrong with that!!!
And people like you, i dont respect! insulting what you dont understand or cant even beging to comprehend!!! So in reality, and the greater over-all picture, your opinion means nothing! |

Plot line advances? Bullshit. It didn't build off of or even reference the plotlines of any existing series. They introduced a dumb 'human origin' plotline which didn't actually make any difference to anything; it was just a setup for the situation. The science is shitty, the logic is shitty, and the character development was similarly wasted on the expendible (in every sense of the word) characters.
Now, all of that would be fine, but for one thing. I mean, you kind of expect all that going to this kind of movie. It's about the action, right?
There were maybe two good action scenes. The rest were incomprehensible and boring. They mostly consisted of the humans pissing their pants until they died. Ho hum. I'm bored just talking about this. |

I went and saw it last night, and i trully wasnt dissapointed. It wasnt as horrific as the first alien movie's, but it was just as cool as the first two predators. I wanted to see it mainly because of how the plot line advances.
Because the predator movie's were in the present day, aliens in the future....what happened to the predators???? and from the ending of AVP i think there will be a sequal.... |

To me it looks like some directer ran out of ideas so he messed with something good. I am reffering to Freddy vs. Jason. Now that was okay but it had no thrilling stuff in it likemost of the Jason movies and like the Nighmare on elm street movies. Well that is my opinion. Hey I will probably still go and see it. |
