But not as great as Syphillis. (ba-da-BUM)
Graphics look REALLY good... forgotten what you could do with but three colors (plus transparent, but who cares about THAT?) a tile. |

Holy crap, thanks for pointing that out! I'll have to make a new logo now lol I knew something seemed off about that logo...

One thing you really need to decide on is if the name is "Civilius" (as in the thread title) or "Cilvilius" (as in your spiffy logo). I vote for the former! |

Dr. Mario....if it's music you want, I'm your man Though I have never tried my hand at hacking FF1's music (i did see that doc though), i'm more than willing and able to help you write music for your hack, and I could always try a hand at actualy editing stuff in my spare time |

Nice work so far, it's looking pretty good.
Maybe (hopefully) at some point I'll finish up MY hack. |

I forogt to say, I'm trying to sign someone else on for this hack for music. There's a document describing the format, but my problem is that I'm a drummer lol I don't know anything about REAL music, so I was hoping someone else would be interested in being part of this hack, and providing some original compositions for it. |

Originally posted by Dr. Mario I haven't gotten into the enemies yet, but I think that each person's hometown will probably have enemies that can match them.
Good idea That would make the hack more challenging. |

Cid the Specialist's skill is going to be Enemy Crippling (Causing slow, confusion, and others)
I like casting spells like that (well, for this hack I'll techs instead), but is there going to be enemies with this kind of tech? |

No demos as of yet, I'm going to work through the graphics and classes. Each class is going to have a "Skill" (Skill replaces Magic) so the spells are going to be very class specific.
Leif the Fighter's skill is going to be Stat Enhancement Cid the Specialist's skill is going to be Enemy Crippling (Causing slow, confusion, and others) Nena the Healer's skill is going to be... uhhh... healing Rahn the Archer's skill is going to be arrows which cause damage |

The Civilius Peace Bracelet
The town of Civilius is housed in the center of all of Utaria's trade routes. When travelers would go to Civilius, a popular item to bring home was the Civilius Peace Bracelet. The bracelet was a sympol of peace all over the land of Utaria. When the four heroes all put the braclets on thier arms hope spread all over Utaria.
This looks special. I like it so much. I can't wait for a release (don't forget to don't rush your work) |

Nope, it's still all the original game no expansion or anything, I'm going to try to take non-ASM hacking to a new level with this... or something... I dunno lol
Here's some story stuff:
In the ancient world of Utauria a great evil threatens the world. Four heroes from four different towns all leave thier homes to find adventure all at once. The Fighter is from Mars, a town a warriors and wannabes. The Healer is from Tranquility, a peaceful town that is home of the last descendants of the first humans on Utaria. The Specialist is from the advanced town of Scholoran, where all of Utauria's technilogical advances come from. The Archer's home is the Mysterious Forest. The Mysterious Forest is a mystical place where only it's inhabitants hold the key to enter the inner city. They all head towards the center of the Utaurian continent, and all meet for the first time at the center town of Civilus. Civilus was the first town that fell victim to the darkness, and most of the inhabitants are dead, though some Merchants are still alive and open for any heroes that may come to save them. While fighting to save Civilus the darkness spreads out to the hometowns of the heroes, and they have to travel to thier homes and put an end to the darkness and destroy whatever is causing it.

1. I would never guess this was a NES game if I didn't know it was a final fantasy hack! The graphics are very well done!! Only complant is the trees and grass, everything else is almost perfect!! Very well done!
2. I don't perticually like the fact that you can't chose names or parties, but if it really matters for the story, its cool. Like if some of the NPCs say the characters names for some part of a story line. The archer is very original, I don't think I have ver seen one in a FF hack before...
3. Way to bright; way to white. You said you changed it, so hopefully it looks better. The gass isn't that great either.
4. Text needs to be centered. Good story, for what I read. Thtas not the hole thing tho right?
5. Very cool logo. Reminds me of the granidet (sp?) that the PS2 uses on its system. Very crisp and clean, its very well done.
I really hope to see more from this hack/author. Its very well done IMO. Is a demo out yet? |

Well, at least the graphics look richer than I remember the original FF being. Did you expand this to have mapper 3 or something? |

Yeah, the tilesets are very limited, I ended up wasting most of them on the water and dirt paths. |

I can't recognize the areas, which is good, and the object placement is fairly orderly. |
