I need to play Silicon Valley - I remember people saying it was one of the unknown N64 gems. (That and it was delayed FOREVER since it was supposed to be a launch title.)

FFTA... I've only just started it but it seems like the type of long RPG where you'll play for a bit, take a break, play, rest... but you'll eventually beat it.

I got bored of Legend Of Dragoon somewhere around the first save point. Other than that, none that I can think of. Space Station: Silicon Valley was one I didn't exactly abandon, but after killing 2 controllers, I just decided 'screw it' and cheated the rest of the way. (Ironically, it was only 2 levels that I really had problems with. That damned poo swamp, and the one before it. )

Golden Sun 1 & 2!
They are good games but I'm always at a low level at the final boss and its very boring to raise the level of all characters... It takes so loooong time.

FFX-2

I cant bring myself to playing that game. I love Final Fantasy, so it feels really wierdto have no interest in this one even after playing it. I dont think its hard, its quite simple, it just isnt what im looking for.

Same goes for FFT-A

I've abandoned Wind Waker and I feel guilty about it... but... I just don't have the time for such a game! GBA games, however, I always see through to the end... since I can take them anywhere! (school and stuff) Having a flash cart also gives me more incentive to try out and finish all kinds of new games as well.

I have. On an emulator. Using savestates. Playing a few levels at a time. Yes, it took a few months. Stupid game getting boring once you've completed 1% of it.

And yes, the reason I quit Wind Waker was because of that damned sailing. I'll beat it one day. I so will.

Metroid Prime (lost interest)
Shinobi (started pissing me off once i got to the last stage)
.Hack series (I beat the first game only, than i thought i have to pay 50 buck 3 more times?....SCREW THAT!)
Wolverines revenge (just wasnt interested)
PSO (level 83 mage erased, over 150 hours of play time down the drain)
-if anyone is familiar with PSO I had god hands, level 18 rest, megid level 10, shield of delsabor, last survivor, victor ax, all kinds of rifels, and many many secret item....ALL GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will never play any MMORPG ever again because of that

I'm like that with SOME first-person games - always have to check the map to make sure I know what the hell I'm doing. Sad in a sense but sometimes when you forget which way is east...

Imagine Quake or Doom without a map.

Game abandonment has been standard operating procedure for me for a while. I'll have fun playing, but then for whatever reason, I lose interest in actually completing the game. I made myself beat Silent Hill 3 because I wanted that unlimited submachine gun, but I haven't picked up my replay game in a while, and I haven't finished a bunch of other good games that I've gotten in the past year.

Dark Cloud 2 - This is a very, very good game...but for some reason, it's not crack on a DVD like the original was. Damn it...I liked trawling backfloors looking for gems, I liked finding pieces of town to assemble, and for some reason, I also liked how you didn't get that much backstory about the characters because it let me drift along in a peaceful daze. I really can't explain that, but it's true. Dark Cloud 2 had random dungeons and upgrading weapons, and it also had a nifty invention system, but that wound up being more tedious than fun for me because you'd find clues everywhere and you either have to have a psychotically good memory or write them down (or just look in the strategy guide). Still, I thought it was pretty ghetto that the game couldn't at least keep a basic clue notebook for you. Your little dude wrote so much other stuff down...I mean, why not? I also didn't like that they changed the system of rebuilding areas. In the original Dark Cloud, you found people, places, and things inside Atla balls, and if you put it all back together so everyone's wishes were satisfied, you'd get a prize. In Dark Cloud 2, you have to build stuff out of parts and recruit people to populate the towns. That's more flexible, but since I was always more into puzzles than Legos, it just didn't appeal to me nearly as much as digging through the dungeon all excited to see what sort of stuff I was going to find.

Metroid Prime - Once I found out that this was not, in fact, a "fly around with guns blazing and if you hesitate for a nanosecond, you're fux0red" sort of FPS, I gave it a try and really got into it. Then I got busy with other things and didn't feel like picking up where I left off. (The controls are well-done, so that's not really a problem, but I'm one of those people who has to check the map every 5 seconds, so I have trouble getting reoriented quickly.)

Final Fantasy X-2 - I'm pretty close to the end, but I want to beat Via Infinito first, and that requires a lot of leveling up. And I'm lazy. Plus, playing that game would remind me that I should be working on my Rikku costume instead.

Final Fantasy VII - I made it to sephiroth's second form in the final battle...he killed me there and i've never gone back (waiting 4+ years)

Tales of Phantasia - I'm pretty much at the last level now...unfortunately, i need to do something to proceed forward and well...i'm kinda lazy to do that (waiting 2+ years)

If this thread came out two weeks ago, then I would add FFX-2...I was at the point where I just had to jump into a hole...but I wanted to finish as much as I could first...anyways, i decided to screw it and move on. (it was waiting 2+ months)

megaman battle network 3 - i can't figure out where to go now...i remember i have to work my way up to rank 1 or something like that...i dunno... (waiting ~1 year)

FF6: I was right at the end part and I was like fuck this.

Metroid Prime: Needed two more artifacts, Christmas came, played Shine. Then I forgot how to play Prime and didn't want to relearn.. yeah.

Shine: When I hit 50 shines, I realized I wasn't half way through. Holy shit.

Wind Waker: Everyone talks. Everyone talks. THE BOAT TALKS. IT HAS A STORY. IN THE TIME IT TAKES TO SAIL I COULD'VE WATCHED THE ENTIRE LOARD OF THE RINGS TRIOLOGY. OMG. so not far.

Sonic 3D Blast: Man, when I get far, I always lose interest, or I have to do something. Long game, no save place.. yeah.

Let's see..

FFVIII: Lost interest or something. Yeah, I know, I should beat that game. Got to that desert base about hafway through disk 2.

Populous: The beginning (not sure how far I got. I think it was to the third planet or something (that's stage 12 or something like that) It's hard.

Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey: Hard. Argh. Never got very far. Somewhere around the area after you've completely escaped the factory (and can't see it in the background anymore. It's just the 5th checkpoint or something.

Metroid Prime: Shame on me. Not sure how far I got either. I did beat that snow monster, that's all I remember.

Wind Waker: Yes, shame again. I have an assload of figurines, so I'm NOT restarting this one. I beat Forsaken Fortress, and I can't remember where I'm headed now. At least I think I beat it.

Turok - Dinosaur Hunter: Got to stage 4 with one life remaining and very little ammo. Yes, the boss on stage 3 kicked my ass, and now I'm too weak to get anywhere. I'll restart and plan ahead a little better next time.

Mario Sunshine: Blue coins = boring. Got all the other shines, except a few of the "100 coins" and "get red coins in bonus areas" ones, but those aren't terribly fun.

Pikmin: Never really held my interest. Got to stage 4, but didn't find too many ship parts there.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle: Not really abandoned. I haven't played it in a long time now, but I DO have a lot of emblems (including Rouge and Eggman's all-A emblems. And I almost got Knuckles's too.) I'll get the rest eventually.

Goemon 64: Not sure how far I got, but I DO have all four party members. Fun game though, I really should beat it one day.

I only ever liked doing stuff by yourself, like grabbing trees and making timber easily, or using stones to destroy the enemie's village.

Yeah, I have played through that game... on an old computer.

You can tell it was slow sometimes.

It's have slow gameplay, especially if you try to play as good. I usually get's tired and use the "destroy the village" teqnique instead of "converting it".

FF VIII - Got up to last boss, corrupted save, downloaded the ending instead
FF IX - Somewhere around disc 3/4, can't find discs/memory card

Don't worry Colin, I never finished Wind Waker or Metroid Prime either.

I tried picking up Prime again but the game is so huge that I completly forgot what to do next and now I'm utterly lost.

And when I got Wind Waker, I had just came home from the desert and I had a bunch of games to catch up on. Xenosaga and Dark Cloud 2 being some of them. I just kind of forgot about it.

Both excellent games though.

The real kicker: it was right before Vegnagun, too.

Exact same situation here. I was having trouble with the minibosses near the end of the game, that and I was just losing interest in it...
