"Hey Ho" and "Break Dancing" would also be quite humorous.

Though I think after playing the game for a while, these kinds of animations would get annoying. Especially if they occur soon after Link becomes idle, and there's no way to turn them off (except moving again).

*Looks at Chicken Dance* XD, we need this! But Moonwalking would be better.

Our best luck would be to find some that have already been ripped.. I'll try searching for some, but since this is NGC, I'm not sure about it...

How about Link dancing when he's not moving ?

Or Cameo apearrances?

I thought the FSA sprites would of used the same amount of colors as the GBA ones, in fact, I thought they used all the original sprites from FS GBA, I never knew they changed the walking animation! Problem is, how can anyone rip out all the sprites? Are they in a ripable format from the GCM? The special effects and smothing would ruin the use of them when ripping with a TV to PC cable.... though there's allways taking them from the GBA by somehow taking it apart and linking the video to the PC, assuming they didn't stupidly reuse the old GBA sprites while using new ones on the GCN, which would be odd.

I recommend taking a good look at Four Sword Adventures sprites. They're a bit more in keeping with LttP's format, and their walking animations aren't so weird. (Four Swords GBA Link seems to move his hands outward in a girly fashion whenever he walks. Four Sword Adventures Link actually has a walk that's more like LttP Link.)

Don't worry I'm almost finished with the sprites.. So far, I had no major flaws, I tried it in game and no problems; what will happen, is that I'll have to edit some of them (Obviously)... And as for using Four Sword adventure sprites, well it'll be harder to convert them into the right format because they have much more color then the GBA ones... That would mean major sprite palette editing... Anyway, I'll finish this sprite, try it, show it to every people worldwide, get criticisms then make the necessary changes (If any...)

Maybe you could switch it with the squirel thing from the lost woods or something..........

The bunny is the easiest sprite to change (only 9 animations). However, I tried the poe idea, but I don't think it fits in the game, or at least in the story ... I might find something else, another "unarmed" animal which replaces the bunny for exemple.

Lol, i dont think u should change the bunny, or at least, keep it as some sort of bunny.

Keep in mind, the bunny sprite is most likely the same thoroughtout the entire game, so u change one, u change all.

It would be a simple sprite hack though, cause all u have to do is walk.

How about...

I think it would be cool to have Link turn into a poe! And it would fit too, considering bunny link can't do anything anyway.

I was wondering, In what should I change the bunny when you warp into the dark world for the first time ?

wow i wouldn't expect the 4 swords sprites actually fits in alttp.

I was thinking about ripping link's gfx from the oracles instead (with a few minor touches of course)

heh gfx isn't my strong point, so i'll probably end up just changing a few palettes

The desire to hack Zelda 3 is as high as it has ever been, and just as tempting and fun. Hyrule Magic's bugs and reputation for borking a hack in progress has kept most people at bay unfortunately. It is such a great game, and so much can be done with it.

[graphics whore] Hacked graphics = happy Chickenlump [/graphics whore]

The Four Swords Link looks very nice. Me like.

I actually prefer the Dark Link set over the four swords one... but I wouldnt mind playing with four swords GFX if thats what you have chosen.

The edit looks great anyways

Ur a great influence on the Z3 hacking community.

Edit: LOL, I just noticed that the abreviated for Gates of Darkness is GOD.... lol

http://ootsquared.sphosting.com/sprites2.htm -> Some really good open source custom sprites!

http://openzelda.sourceforge.net/list/sprites/ -> Some custom sprites LTTP Style...

And while we're on the subject, a tingle sprite for the target room!

Of course there is a bunch more, but that should be enough good as for now... A good idea, would be to take bosses from other games and make them available in Z3!...

I'd personally go for the Four Swords version of the graphics, unless you wanted to keep it relatively close to what style of what the original LttP was...but then this would definitely make it a lot different and more unique of a hack if you used Four Swords version, not necessarily for originality...but considering the majority of the sprite edits I've seen are pretty much changing minor features on Link, this would definitely set it apart from the rest...

...and if this hack of yours gets any sweeter I think I'm going to die in anticipation.

What I definitely want to make is not only new dungeons/overworlds, but also completely new graphics; that's part of the hacking process I guess. As for Link, I've finally mastered a way that will make colors exactly the same as Link from 4 swords.. Due to the 16 colors only (on screen as for the sprites/GFX blocks) limitations of LTTP, I had to find each RGB (Red, Green, Blue) of each color the 4 sword sprite used... So doing that, the sprite will look exactly the same as if you were playing 4 swords!

And, I'm not responsible for people dieing because they are impatiently waiting for my hack j/k.. Anyway if the anticipation is too big, consider, I've been waiting so long to play a finished hack myself, no one would release one, so I decided (without any hacking knowledge...) to make a Z3 hack... With full of determination, I tried my best to be of a great help to the Z3 community, thus the FAQ and the hack
