Then are you saying Doom 2 and Quake and UT 2k4 lack gameplay, because they are all the concept, but slightly variated from each other.
Doom 3 is the Resident Evil of FPS. It is run and gun, with limitations making it hella creepy. |

I don't see why people like this game. Sure the gfx is awsome, but it lacks gameplay. |

Celeron 600mhz, 64 MB RAM, 15 GB hard drive, and I think 16x CD-ROM. I think I got you beat on shitty computers. Hell, I doubt it'd run at all on this POS. (I'm surprised Doom 2 works on this thing, honestly) My specs may be a little off, I might doublecheck later.
Which is one of the main reasons I won't be getting this, sadly. That's something I can't do anything about, due to lacking money. Were it not for that, I probably would. (heck, three people in this house would play it. Me, mom, and dad. ) |

This game sure is amazing! The graphics are just OMG... However, I intent to buy a better card when I got the cash for it ... This game is laggy setting it to the MAX... HAHA DD, I too have the OLD crappy ATi Radeon 9000 When I bought my newer PC, I was really "still" a guy who wasn't sure about current technology... So I ended up with an AMD Athlon 3100+, Audigy EX, Radeon 9000... 512MB... So I guess the radeon 9000 doesn't fit well in all that.. |

Im not upgrading for Doom 3 until the 512MB cards come out, that way, I can experience it in its full glory. But for now, 30-40 FPS is good enough for me (and thats on my Radeon 9000 card!). And those who have it, where are you at? Im at the end of Alpha Labs Sector 3 and boy, it sure is a bitch to get out of there with more than 50 health (starting at 99). |

Mind you, it'd be interesting to see what two parallel GeForce 6800 Ultras could achieve.
You mean in about 4 or 5 months when nVidia releases their new dual GPU mobos which are going to kick ass?
Ultra Graphics mode requires at least a gig of RAM, and at least a 3 ghz processor. Of course, to circumvent that just boost the resolution of the game, for some reason a high setting with a very high resolution can actually look better than Ultra mode can (of course, we don't have the technology to run the highest settings of ultra mode as smooth as possible yet)...I <3 Doom 3 |

You know...I was talking about "9600" XT... Not 9800...
I guess that the 9800 Pro costs 315$ with 128mb of memory... |

I like this game.
It doesn't like my 9700 though.
Oh well, 640x480 and jerky framerate for me. |

The 9800 PRO is a good card, but the X800 is an amazing bitch of a chip. It renders further into the distance, and can give an overall clearer image to games like Far Cry.
The 6800 ULTRA from nVidia is a mofo chip, it works beautiful in Doom, far better than any other chip <.< |

Don't. The 9800 pro is cheaper and deals more FPS for your money too
There's only a very small difference between the 9800 pro and the 9800 XP anyways, and it only shows through in most games in a difference of framerate of about 10 |

Ahem...Well, I played it on my friends Radeon 9800 PRO, P4 2.4, 1 gig DDR system.
It is a very pretty game on High with a good resolution setting. |

Mine isn't so bad, but my video card just plain sucks; Sis 630/730 S. I wonder how I've been gaming for this long with this POS. Once I get a job, however... |

If those rquirements that Ranko posted or quoted are correct, we can play it on our newest computer.
The problem is that the harddrive is full... |

I have 1.4 Athlon, GeForce 2 Pro w/ 64MB DDR RAM. It's just about the equivilent of the minimum requirements. It's a shame it slows down to a crawl when there's an enemy on screen
What? It works!? I may give it a shot then. Maybe after alittle boost. |
