you can only paste 256-color bitmap in yychr.. and it takes off some of the colors, thats what i do to rip exgfx, though

Well, YYCHR can utilize the windows clipboard, so you CAN cut and paste from the BMP to YYCHR... You just cant load a BMP into YYCHR.

It helps to have a savestate palette beforehand, then all you have to do is load it, and scroll down in the palette window.

You really just have to play around with the program... its not the hardest thing to pick up actually

Yah, that sounds good. But I dont understand it. I want to insert something from a .bmp file and cut it out and put into the gfx. But I dont understand YY and it has the odd pallete, even when I load a pallete I saved from LM. If you could teach me how to open BMP's with YY and fix the pallete, I will love you. Eh...scratch the end of that...

... Extracting a pallete is as easy as making a save state in the level you're editing. Because thats exactly what you have to do.

I never really used TLP so I cant help you much. I would say to use YYCHR... I find it much easier to use for some reason. I can even help you use it

When you edit in lm the palette is default blue. You have to open the palette editor(the rainbow star) and edit from there. I don't know if tlp shows the actual colours because I use YY-chr, but yy also shows very bad palette. so just edit in lm, and change the palette with the star. but if your making new gfx, use yy-chr if tlp isn't working.

Diden't work. I'm not sure whats wrong. Maybe it's an old version I recently dl'ed. I would edit in LM but the pallete looks all blueish and I cant seem to fix it.

I think you are better off using the AllGFX.bin in LM, plain and simple. In fact, I don't recommend any TileLayer if you work for perfection. Although this seldomly happens, TileLayer can show up with a few flaws that can cause undesired if not, below average results. Just take the GFX editing one at a time, you'll get there!

It also depends on where you click to paste the tiles, you might have just caused a tiny mistake just by clicking on the wrong square. Try to paste it on the very upper left-hand corner of the tile map; see what it does. If it does the same thing, just do it all manually. Besides, the old way is the admirable way!

Now I know TLP has never done this before....but when I extract the GFX to AllGFX.bin and load it...pallete...blah blah blah...it cuts off the first line in the GFX. Like the top of the words Nintendo are gone and the big X the top of thats gone too. Not that I'm mad or anything but...WTF M8's ??

[Edit: But It doesent do this in that YY-Chr program which personaly i dispise.]
