Suddenly, a loud explosion could be heard...
Looks like there's still more enemies left after all!
The explosion sound came from a warehouse near Melvin's current location...

Melvin dropped to the ground, and returned his gun to it's holster. He pulled a highly caffeinated energy drink out of nowhere, and promptly chugged the entire thing before crushing the can against his forehead and tossing it away.

The shot passed right trought Melvin-Bot's head! He was destroyed before he could even mutter a cliched villain line like "This can't be!" or "This is impossible!".

As the sole Melvin-Bot stared at the giant pothole in the ground, floating over his head was Melvin, hovering in midair with a large pair of red rectangular wings extending out of his coat. He simply drew his Gauss Pistol, set the sight onto the back of the Melvin-Bot's head, and fired.
Melvin: I knew installing a Jet Scrander would pay off.  |

The Deus Ex Machina incarnation screamed in rage and turned the ball around in such a way that Melvin would be below the sphere. Then, he crashed the sphere into the ground and used his power to make the sphere explode upon impact.
Once the attack was done, Melvin-Bot ran out of energy and returned to his normal, Melvin-shaped form.

Three seconds later, an arm popped out of the large crushed hunk of metal. Then another arm. Then a head, and most of his bost, and then Melvin wriggled ot onto the ground.
Melvin: Wow.
He looked up at the big crushed metal ball.
Melvin: Good thing Super Robots are cheap in Japan... Take a week at most to fix that, I'd say.
At that point, Deux Ex Machina had picked up the ball of metal.

Deux Ex Machina incarnation: "OK! Here I come!"
METAL CRUSH!
Deux Ex Machina used his powers to crush the Melvin Robo turning it into a ball of crushed metal! Should the Melvin Robo fail to resist to this attack and should Melvin escaped from the mecha before it was completely crushed, he will then attempt to throw the ball at Melvin (if he can locate Melvin... and if the Melvin Robo was indeed turned into a ball of crushed metal).

Of course, Melvin had already disabled the Super Robot's systems to prevent Deux Ex Machina from controlling them -- by pulling on a large switch on the floorboard and disabling the power linkup to the entire mecha. Melvin Robo simply stood there for a moment, then plopped onto it's bottom.

Off: You just forgot something: Deux Ex Machina has no legs, he floats above the ground.

The attack was completely and entirely inneffective.
Deux Ex Machina incarnation: "Hahaha. Very funny. This was quite fun... but it is now time to end this! I'll show you why I'm called the "God of Machines"!"
METAL FORCE!
Suddenly, Deux Ex Machina gained complete control over all metallic substances around him!
Deux Ex Machina incarnation: "How do you like this? Your Melvin Robo is now under MY control! Hahahaha!"
The incarnation tried to use it's powers to disable the Melvin Robo's control systems so that Melvin may not interfere with his attempts at controlling the Melvin Robo.

Melvin Robo dropped to the ground, looking at the broken drill, and simply blinking. Meanwhile, in his cockpit, Melvin smiled.
Melvin: You haven't seen me at my best yet - Maaaaach Freeze!
Cool badass super move music plays again, as the entire world turns to greyscale around Melvin Robo. To the Deux Ex Machina incarnation, he has dissapeared from plain view. As the laws of physics weaken around Melvin Robo, Melvin quikcly breaks free of the black hole's gravity pull before it has a change to strengthen and pull him in.
Barreling between the monstrosity's legs as before, Melvin invoked two moves he had before again --
Melvin: Maaaaach Speeed! Open Gate!
Melvin Robo quickly broke up, spiraling into the air, Deus Ex Machina now between the three Get Machines and the black hole.
Melvin: Change, Smithy-3! Swiiiitch On!
The three planes recombined, and now, Melvin Robo took the form of a giant super robot incarnation of Melvin's foremost buffed-out cronie, Smithy. Extending it's arms out, the Smithy-3's forearms lifted up, as if on hinges, at the elbows, revealing a pair of missle launchers.
Melvin: Homing Missile!
Two large missles flew out of the launchers. Mach Speed still in effect, then quickly spiraled towards Deux Ex Machina -- but rather instead of striking the giant, they spun through it's legs, and struck the ground behind it, creating a pair of rather large potholes, with Deux Ex Machina standing at the height of the steep slope on the left side.
Now, theoretically, Deux Ex Machina would fall over backwards and land directly on the black hole. Just lettin' you know. |

Off: Altought this looks like an unavoidable instant-death move... it is not.
Even if Melvin can't dodge/block it, it will only damage the Melvin Robo... and even if it actually destroy the Melvin Robo, Melvin himself won't be harmed. Still, it would be easier for Melvin to survive if his machine remained intact.

However, the drill broke upon impact. Deux Ex Machina's armor was completely immune to regular attacks. In short, the attack barely scratched the transformed Melvin bot.
Deux Ex Machina incarnation: "That was a cool evasive move... but what can you do against... A BLACK HOLE?!?"
EL GELBARA!
The transformed Melvin bot fired beams with all of it's arms... but it did aim for the Melvin Robot but rather at the ground under it. The beams began to open a massive portal under the Melvin Robo and the powers of gravity of the portal began to increase and increase and increase...
Unless Melvin did something fast, the portal would transform into a real black hole!

However, Melvin was unfazed by this sudden transformation -- he had faced various opponents in mecha battles, and such startling transformations were common place.
He leaned in a bit closer to the viewscreen, watching and waiting for the attack, and then--
Melvin: Maaaach Dash!
Melvin Robo's speed increased dramatically, and the Super Robot seemed to dissapear from plain view, only a small blur left behind. Melvin piloted the robot with expert precision, ducking low, the flurry of bullets passing directly over the robot's fedora.
With cool badass super move music playing in the background, Melvin Robot passed directly through the monstrous giant's legs. Upon reaching the other side, Melvin pressed down directly into both his foot pedals -- Melvin Robo responded by suddenly pressing down into the ground, then pushing off and leaping into the air. Boosters in the mecha's feet activated, sending it spiraling into the air.
With Mach Dash still in effect, Deus Ex Machina would only be barely turning around at this point. Melvin Robo's right hand began to spin around rapidly, soon forming a massive, spiraling drill. Still moving into the air, Melvin anticipated his opponent's movements, and--
Melvin: Maaaaach Drill!
Pushing into his footpedals, Melvin Robo turned around, and sent the huge drill directly at the head of the titantic beast, directly towards where his face was anticipated to be... |

Melvin-bot began to melt...
Melvin-bot: "Prepare yourself sir!... to meet..."
Suddenly, in a flash of light, Melvin-bot was gone!

A huge enemy robot named
"Deux Ex Machina"
is approaching fast!

Where was once Melvin-bot was a GIGANTIC machine entirely made of destroyed buildings, scrapped robots, and other machines and non-living junk all bound together to form some kind of horrific monster that was REALLY tall (not tall in the sense of three times your character's size... but rather in the sense of as tall as three buildings). While the monster was quite hard to describe, the robot had some kind of huge head and 6 arms. The robot had no legs or any means of transportation. It was just floating there for some reason...
(enemy machine): "I... am... Deus... Ex... Machina... the god of machines..."
Looks like this atrocious machine was none other than the legendary Deux Ex Machina, the strongest machine ever built. It was said to be invincible... but fortunately, this was just an incarnation of Deux Ex Machina, not the real thing. In time, Melvin-bot will return to normal... but for now, Melvin will have to hang tight and try to survive!
Deux Ex Machina decided to attack before Melvin could reach him! He raised one of it's 6 hands (or whatever it was) and tried to crush Melvin Robo like the insect he was. The other hands transformed into gigantic automatic cannons and then, Deux Ex Machina sent a real shower of bullets at Melvin Robo.

Melvin-bot: "Maybe your machine isn't as useless as I first tought... but it's no match for me! Now I'm going to do this terrible end-of-the-world attack with loads of cool light effects and scary sound effects. I just have to charge a bit before I can unleash it. Wait for a minute..."
Melvin-bot charged energy into his right hand.

Melvin: Not this time -- Open Gate!
Melvin slammed the left control stick forward, the heroic super robot dissasembling into three smaller jet planes, one white, one yellow, and one red, which flew in three different directions, completely evading the Melvin-bot's attack. The three planes flew towards the sky, then arched out, and all flew towards one another--
Melvin: Change, Booster-2! Swiiiiitch On!
The three planes seemed to collide together, a bright flash of light emitting and filling the surrounding area -- and when it faded, a giant Super Robot-version of Booster was standing there, complete with green suit, fedora, and badass goatee.
