Why isn't this in here? It's IPSelect, a program which allows you to choose which parts of a patch to apply to a file. It's very useful for corrupt hacks - just create a patch and apply all but one part to a fresh ROM; if the problem remains, delete the ROM you just patched, make another copy, and keep doing that until it's fixed.

Ummm... with all these sticky threads as it is? Besides, there is no real reason for it to be stickied. It wouldn't be updated in a while, anyway, as any useful IPS's don't often come about.

It's already there. Also, the address you posted is wrong. (You forgot the 7 at the end.)

Would someone be able to remove:
SMW Open Source Project
fromt the original list?
And replace it with:
Super Mario World Development Environment
https://sourceforge.net/projects/smwdev/
Set of tools to allow easy modification of SMW

Thanks

Here is the old thread where the Memory Locations Thread copies were posted. It's no longer stickied, since most of its contents were in here anyway, but there are some useful memory addresses in there.

[edit] Better yet, here is a one-page archive of the thread in standard HTML format. I've removed most of the board links such as Quote and New Reply, and added some more useful ones. I also changed the background because the old one just didn't look that good with the changes. If you really hate it, click 'Toggle BG' to switch to the old one; it uses a cookie, so it should stay that way next time you view it. Also, this is probably the longest time ever between me posting something and editing it.

The download works and the file isn't corrupt. Left-Click on it instead of Right-Clicking and going to Save As.

Edit: Talk about a late responce, but...meh.

As for 2), I don't. Since DW3 levels and GFX are too tempting to be reused by you in your hack, and they suck now because of being overused, you know.
In other words, either do as Link2004 said or just download one of the ready music-only patches, because you and I know you wouldn't resist the temptation of making another SMB3 clone hack.

1) Isn't this the wrong thread?
2) I recommend that you base your hack on DW3 instead of patching it later.

music-only SMB3 patch

To do this, take two blank SMW ROMs, and your hacked ROM.

1.) Patch one blank ROM with the Super Demo World 1 IPS and then patch the other with the Super Demo World 3 IPS.
2.) Use Lunar IPS to create an IPS patch using the SDW1 patched rom as the original, and the SDW3 and the modified ROM.
3.) Viola! You have your music-only SMB3 patch.

If I had misread that thread and they indeed did know how to do this, sorry for repeating it again.

When I tried this,it didn't work, corrupted my data, and destroyed my hack (made a backup first). Can you just post the patch for the music-only hack?

Hmmm... I updated the SMW Graphics List with quite a lot of things, mostly about text.

Hm, Atma X made an excellent document with some memory addresses to change a lot of things like boss HP's, the rex-to-gooba stuff, etc.

here...

perhaps this could be added to the first post of this thread

I just didn't feel like explaining how to do it the way that you just explained, because I knew there would be a lot of newbies getting confused, so I made an IPS that only required you to patch the IPS to the Original Rom,... and sadly, some of them even got confused with the IPS that I made for it. (I guess the people who got confused didn't really know how to patch any rom for that matter)

btw, I don't think this is off topic, since it is a useful resource to SMW (being able to have new Music in your rom)
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
