Annie Get Your Gun is a fun musical about Annie Oakley and Frank Butler.

Yeah.

As an aside, I played Chief Sitting Bull in my high school's adaptation my senior year.

Rent. That is all you need to know. Now go see it!!! Links are in my bio. Great story, music, I mean, it's amazing! Saw it about a year ago. I wish so much that I could have seen it with the orginal NY cast, but the cast that I did see, was just amazing.

Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horrors, Aida, are a few others that are pretty good.

They have a lot of them showing here but I never got to go watch one or anything. I would but I think it might cost some money that I don't have. I could always just rent the recording of it or something. The thing is that I don't know if I would be into it. Maybe I'll try out Wicked or The Producers one day

Jesus Christ Superstar owns. I'm also a fan of The Music Man, and if you don't mind non musical theater, The Man Who Came To Dinner with Nathan Lane is brilliant. I'd also recommend Noises Off! if you're into Michael Caine, it's very very funny.

I also saw Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical, with David Hasselhoff. It wasn't bad, lots of excellent songs (particularly the recurring theme song), but Hasselhoff isn't much of an actor. And he's very egotistical.

it depends on what you like.

Wicked is the story of the wicked witch of the west before dorothy came into the picture. its a really funny chronicle of her life from when she was born to when she dies. idina menzel is awesome as the witch, and as glinda, the good witch, kristin chenoweth steals the show. i may just be saying that because she is my idol though XD. anyway, its really good, and its so much more modern and fun than the wizard of oz.

Set in the 1960's, Hair is the story of a guy who moves from some mid western state to NY to join the army. during his stay in NY he meets a group of hippies who teach him a lot about their way of life. really really really cool twist ending and awesome 60's music.

The Producers- really funny musical comedy about 2 guys who try to create the worst musical ever. lets just say that its called "springtime for hitler"... how's that for random?

Into the Woods is a great parody of all those fairy tale stereotypes. it shows you what really happens AFTER happily ever after. it has so many funny references to different fairy tales and its so amusing to hear these characters in a setting other than the perfect one they're in in the stories we hear when we're little.

Jesus Christ Superstar- all i can say is non preachy rocking jesus musical. it sounds dumb but believe me.... it is set to the coolest rock-style music you've heard in a musical.

here are a few of my other favorites. but these are the ones that are most likely considered "gay" as you put it: oklahoma!, the music man, my fair lady... stuff like that.
