This looks like a good hack, and I like the sidewalk level, a very interesting idea.

The other shots look good also, although some graphics look strange, such as the question marks in the first shot...

What you could do is,

Wow, this screenshot is absolutely amazing, I like it very much, but the other pictures are still good, too IMO.
Keep up the good work and I hope a new demo or the fullversion soon.

Too bad the side-scrolling engine doesn't support 4-way movement, or you could have Mario move up and down in the Ed level, as well as side to side. Kind of like in Excitebike. That would have to be supported and you would need extra sprites, though.

Looks good... the sidewalk is a bit weird with that certain view though .

The first few screenshots are nice. The question blocks rock .

This shot is cool. I love those ? blocks. Very original! Good job

Those ghosts are awesome! I know Kyouji made them tho... The coin looks odd.

The ground is cool. Hand drawn? The only problem I see is that the rock flots above the ground abit.

This shot is cool. Sort of reminds me of level 1C7 (1C5?) from the original game.

Very plain, weird idea. I like it! The holes look weird but im sure it will look good when its done. Maby you should add buildings in the Bg so it looks more like a sidewalk in the city.
EDIT: Maby you should add sides in the holes to make them look like they go down.

It looks cool overall. Overworld shots would be nice

I really like the background on the first screen, it creates atmosphere, the dirt levels are cool because they seem to be on a mountain top with that background, and the last one is pretty funny, but do add more detail in the background

I am working on it... I just can't make the bush seem right. I should work on it some more when I get offline...

This is an update on my hack, Basic Land.

First, the "CLOCK" is now changed back to "TIME". I had a few complaints about this before and now I have fixed it.

Now for the screenshots.


A small palette change to the FG and BG.

Kyouji let me use his ghosts, so... I am using them. I am thinking of making Big Boo sort of like the YI ghosts, but not ripped... just inspired...

A simple dirt level, with fences, rocks, and patches of grass. Background from LttP.

Same...

My latest level. It is inspired by Ed, Edd n Eddy. No background yet. It will be a simple background, though. I am also adding a fence by the sidewalk.
