Janus: "Man, I'd love to know a trick like that. Oh well, guess this'll have to do."

Janus grabs his hammer and concentrates for a moment, letting energy flow through it. He swings the hammer, cutting a hole in the very fabric of space and time. Stepping into the hole, he steps out in another time, another place.

(thinking) 'Schwa, thank you... I've learned quite a bit tonight. I hope we meet again...'

"My existance is to guide the lost souls of the universe. When there's a being that's struggling between good and evil, I'm sent to nudge that being over to the good side. Someday my body will die, but my soul will live forever in the Etheral Dimmension, allowing me to continue guiding those in need. Thousands of years from now, I may even become a Zraku, a spirit we believe are the ancestors of psi warriors.

"Second, I am a soldier for good. I protect the universe from demons, undead, dark gods and evil thoughts. All us psi warriors do that. Even when I'm nothing but a spirit in the Etheral Dimmension, I'll still be able to help by channeling my energies to other psi warriors. The battle we fought this night? All the psi warriors from the etheral dimmension were sharing their power with me. We are all bound to each-other psychically. But the thing that makes us strong is that good always overcomes evil, and we are the embodyments of good.

"Before you go, allow me to perform one final good deed for you." Schwa gathers a ball of gold ether around his palm, and holds it out. "Etheral Mending!!!"

The gold ether surrounds Janus entirely, mending his wounds and restoring him to full power over 20 seconds. The light clears, and Schwa is gone. There is absolutely no trace of him; all that remains is the roughed-up ground from the battle.

Janus: "Schwa, what did I say? Did I say to worry about hurting me?"

Before Schwa can help Janus to his feet, Janus springs upward and lands -- precariously, of course... -- standing upright. He's definitely busted up, but strangely enough he somehow seems perfectly fine at the same time. Maybe he's just a good actor, maybe he really is unharmed, who knows? Well, Janus does actually. And he's definitely an excellent actor.

"No, no I did not. You unleashed a bit of your real power on me, and by George, it packed a good whallop. Frankly, considering the things I've heard about you, I wasn't even half-expecting the fight you gave. I'm proud to say I could fight you tonight. Not only that, but take a look at the sky..."

The sun has already risen to show a beautiful new dawn, and Janus realizes it's time for him to get moving.

"I'm true to my words. It's dawn, I wasn't standing when the sun rose, and that means I lost this one. So why not call it quits for now?"

Janus turns his back to Schwa, and begins a long trek away. From here his act has dropped; the years of experience are beginning to show in his gait, as he walks with the posture of a man who has seen all that the world has to offer, yet cannot leave it just yet. However, a moment later he stops and turns back to Schwa, as young as he looks.

"But before I go, tell me something. You have so much power, so what do you use it for?"

Schwa looks down at the busted-up Janus. "Hey, you alright? I think maybe the sparring match is good enough. You look beaten up." In a brilliant burst of sparks, Schwa seperates with the elemental and lands safely on his feet. He walks over to Janus and offers to help him up. "Are we done with this match or what? I'm pretty tired out as well. Though I haven't shown it, I'm pretty wounded. Your hammer packs a punch. Here, let me help you up..."

Janus rockets out of the earth, and just barely has time to set up a defense before Schwa slams into him!

Janus: "Spinning Shield!"

In a manner similar to windmilling a bo staff, Janus' hammer spins around in front of him, hoping to take the attack of the Air Elemental with ease. That's not exactly the case. Schwa's Lightning Dash collides directly with the shield, and Janus grabs his hammer, holding it out in front of him as the Dash presses into the edge of the hammer (it looks a bit like Janus is connecting a hit with the hammer but instead is levering Schwa's attack away with the hammer). He skids backward, holding on with all of his strength, but it's just not enough. The hammer swings backward, taking Janus in the chest as he is hit full-force by Schwa's attack. Janus slams into the ground, skidding and rolling for a good ten yards before he finally stops. He's breathing, but not moving.

OOC: Well, this elemental is vunerable to physical attacks as well, but takes more damage from energy. "Schwalemental"? That's an awesome word!!!

Schwa thinks quickly. Earth isn't affected by electricity, so he only has one other option...

The elemental rushes toward the wall of earth, with more and more speed... and WHAM! Plummets through it while taking a little bit of damage. The tornado's still zooming forward, right toward Janus, and it turns it into a Lightning Dash. This one, though, will be a tad stronger as Schwa's energy mixes with the elemental's. Inside, though, Schwa's pretty sure Janus will counter his sudden attack... he may be wrong...

Janus can't believe his eyes. The tornado's glowing with electricity!

Janus: "So... This is Schwa..."

Janus looks to the Schwalemental for a moment, and wonders if he's been defeated. But then, he gets a rush of inspiration! Grabbing his hammer in one hand, and kneeling to the ground, supporting himself with the other, he looks up at Schwa!

"Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! I know I'm not gonna regret this! Tactical Modification!"

Janus jumps high into the air, spinning into his tornado move, but this time he doesn't get out of it! Staying within the tornado, he blazes heavily into the ground just in front of Schwa, drilling into the earth and kicking up a thick wall of earth that moves straight toward the air elemental protecting Schwa!

"Earthquake Diver!"

OOC: Most of Janus' attacks from this point are combinations of previous moves you've seen, Earth and Wind element attacks. I'm not sure if I can physically harm the Air Elemental though, since it IS made of air, and in D&D terms Air Elementals can't be harmed unless you have a magical weapon. While Janus' hammer constitutes a heavily magical weapon, he's still basically swinging a blunt object through the air...

OOC: Buffet means slam. If you're walking down the street and a sudden gust of wind blows you down, you'd say you were buffeted by a gust of wind.

Schwa breaks out of the vines easily, having about 28% of his mana restored. He smiles at Janus, not offended at all. "Janus, guess what? Everyone slips at some point. Even me, and I'm bound to the Three Legend Assets themselves! I do not take offense at mistakes. Allow your mistakes to make you stronger, as I do. If you'd like to see one of my stronger attacks, I'll show you. But be warned, you'll have to actually battle my new form. Are you ready?"

Schwa stares at the ground, folding his hands. After a long wait, he says quietly, "Elemental Unity." Once he says this, the air elemental rushes toward Schwa. Right before the tornado touches him, Schwa leaps high into the air, and the tornado stays under him as he falls down. Schwa lands inside the elemental and floats inside. Currents of lightning flow between the tornado and Schwa, and Schwa's eyes become visible under his blindfold, glowing neon blue.

"Now I am invunerable, but not my elemental. You must defeat it before you can harm me again. And I've gained a different arsenal of attacks. From now on, the elemental and I are one. Good luck." Schwa's new form awaits Janus's attack.

OOC: Ha, guess I didn't know what buffet means. And as for the name, it's part of the Russianada fad. Plus I'm a pinko.

The moment Schwa says this, Janus stops the hammer straight in the air, as the Air Elemental passes beneath it. Janus lands on the ground, alarmed at himself.

Janus: "You're right... You're really right."

Janus calls his hammer back to him, and returns it to its bag state. He slumps down to the ground, a blank stare in his eyes.

"I... feel kinda sick... All this time I've been talking about peace and nonviolence and fighting to end all fighting, and I just tried to kill you with my own two hands.

Argh, I can't keep doing this, not if I'm gonna get carried away like I am now. It's just not worth it to accidentally kill someone such as yourself. Regain your mana, Schwa. I think it's time for me to leave soon. What say we wrap this up? I'll let you regain your mana, but in return I want you to show me one of your stronger attacks, I know we've only been sparring thus far, but since I slipped I'm gonna allow you to, too. And don't worry about hurting me, aside from an incredible headache most of your attacks I've been able to evade and escape more or less unharmed from. Those psychic attacks sure do pack a punch, though!"

OOC: Actually, the elemental doesn't envelop you, it buffets you to the ground, like being hit by a wall of bricks. The elemental is very solid-feeling while attacking like that. Uh... why did you change your name to Comrade Greymanov???

Schwa sees the hammer fly down at him, and he's helpless to move while regaining his mana. "Buffet it away," he commands the elemental. The little tornado appears behind Janus alarmingly, but doesn't attack him. It does only what it is ordered to do, and tries to knock the hammer away by slamming into it.

"Just a little more and I'll have enough power to fight again. Oh, and Janus? Throwing a hammer that hard could kill an ordinary guy, right? Now I wouldn't be killed by something like that, but didn't you say you weren't trying to hurt anyone since this was just a sparring match? Well, thrown hammers don't bug me, but I was just curious..."

To move out of the way of the oncoming tornado, Janus dives into a dodge roll, but it's too late, the elemental managed to catch him off guard and envelope him within its swirling winds. Whipped and shocked by the Air Elemental's rage, Janus is throws heavily to the ground, shocked and bruised.

Janus: "It's... a good thing I'm used.... to that sort of attack..."

Janus picks himself up, and shakes off the shocks of Schwa's tornado. He appears dazed, but little else harmed.

"Fortunately for me, when one learns to create tornadoes, one learns to deal with them as well. I was a bit scared of the lightning aspect of that lightning dash, but then I suddenly remembered that that attack follows almost the exact same style as a person I've fought many times before. So long as I'm properly grounded, it doesn't really pose that much of a problem for me. And as you can see..."

Janus shows his hammer, which has been firmly planted in the ground from the time Janus was thrown down up until now, acting as a ground while Janus whirled around in the tornado.

"A little wrist work and I managed to stay relatively safe. I say relatively in the loosest sense, of course. Regardless of how used to losing control of a tornado I am, that still hurt a lot! Good attack, of course. But where'd your elemental head off to?"

Janus looks around, but cannot see where the elemental is. It is, of course, made of air.

"Ah, well, no matter. Since those vines won't hurt me if I attack them, but you will..."

Janus leaps high into the air, directly above Schwa. He hurls his hammer straight downward, with even more force than he previously smashed the ground with!

"I'll attack you from where you can't hit me in melee!"

An air elemental can't defend against earthquake attacks. Yet the quake doesn't affect the vines at all. "These vines are actually a form of energy produced by the earth. Psi warriors specialize in spiritual attacks, but certain psi warriors also specialize in another thing. For me, it's being in touch with nature. I'm still improving on it, but a handful of my attacks are nature-based. And if you touch the vines, they won't hurt you... but I will." The air elemental slowly starts crackling with electricity as Schwa talks. "Oh goody, my ally is waiting to attack. Air Elemental, attack with Lightning Dash!"

Around the elemental forms a cone of powerful electricity, as it zooms toward Janus! The attack, if it hits, would buffet Janus to the ground with amazing force as well as shock him. (More of a buffet attack than a lightning attack.) Of course, charging attacks can be figured out pretty easily, but this tornado-thing's fast!

Janus: "Not too bad of a technique, if you ask me. Of course, there's gotta be a reason why I wouldn't attack you, and I'd just love to find out what it is!"

Janus continues to send his hammernado at the air elemental, while he examines the electric vines that surround Schwa...

"I'm sure that touching those vines will give me a very big shock. But what if I don't touch them?"

Disabling his hammernado and recalling his hammer, Janus gets a good distance away from Schwa and his air elemental. Raising the hammer high above his head, Janus cries, "Earthquake!!!", and slams the hammer down on the ground hard, directing a shockwave of earth towards Schwa's vines, in an attempt to rupture the earth around them and rip them from the ground!

Having no psi energy at the moment to deflect the tackle, Schwa takes the tackle but throws Janus backward after hitting the ground and tumbling once. Schwa then frontflips twice to get away from Janus. He watches Janus's tornado speed toward his elemental. "Get back," Schwa orders, and the elemental dodges to the side and moves next to Schwa.

"Now it's time for me to regain my mana... and I dare you to attack me while I do it." Schwa lays down on the ground, facing up and holding still. "Vines of Photosynthesis!!!" (echo effects) As Schwa orders the technique, several glowing, blue vines erupt out of the ground all around Schwa. They move on their own, like a pile of worms, and entangle Schwa so he can't move. The elemental stays close to protect Schwa as this happens. After Schwa is entangled, the vines begin to emit electric currents. Schwa seems motionless, but calm.

"Being in my shoes would freak out little kids right about now. But hey, this is a very reliable move. I can already feel my spiritual energy coming back to me." The vines seem to be returning mana to Schwa.

Janus: "That looks like it hurt a little bit... Fortunately, tornadoes are something I can deal with."

Janus recalls his hammer, thankful that Schwa let go of it for him.

"If my original tornado wasn't enough, then I guess I could just modify it a bit!"

Janus spins into his tornado technique, making it faster than it was before, and spins it in the opposite direction of the white whirlwind. Hoping to neutralize the air elemental, Janus leaps out of the tornado, again hammerless, and sends it flying at the air elemental! While this happens, he rushes to Schwa, executing a sliding tackle, hoping to knock him off his feet.

"Though I'll lose the use of my hammer from this point, so long as that tornado keeps colliding with your air elemental, it should pose as much of a threat as you think. Without my hammer, do you really think you need mana to defeat me anyway?"

OOC: It does suck in everything, but material matter is just locked in the center. Energy, on the other hand, becomes a part of the well. That makes it a tiny more unstable, and when it adds up enough, the well explodes on it's own with force 10x stronger than if Schwa were to detonate it.

Schwa stares at the wild, flying hammer. "What in the--" That's the only thought he gets in before WHAM! Schwa is suddenly attached to the hammer and is flying through the air. However, a closer look shows that Schwa is entirely coated in blue ether. This probably means he was able to deflect some of the damage, but at that velocity, who knows?

"Ahh! Time to get this thing off!" Schwa focuses and the ether flares up brilliantly, knocking the hammer out of his side. Schwa lands on the ground but gets up. He still has some fight left in him, amazingly. "Janus, I don't have a lot of mana left. I'm using the last of it to get help. Ready? .... Okay! Summon Air Elemental!!!" (echo effects)

Schwa's ether turns white as Schwa thrusts his hands into the air. White ether flies into the air and swirls around brilliantly. After about 8 seconds, the ether flies down and forms into a small, white tornado, about 1.5 times as big as Schwa.

"This will keep you busy while I restore some of my mana, which I'll begin soon."

OOC: In your fights against Dracoon and Kornfan, it sucked in more than just energy... The well would also have to suck in some material form in order to disrupt my spinning attack, so I sorta figured that might work... And you did say everything, but I guess that really doesn't matter since you just reversed the flow, right?

Janus opens the main pouch on his bag, and watches as the discs fly back into the mystical holding device, which didn't seem to have a bottom to it... He zips his bag back up, and looks down on it with an exasperated look on his face. He hadn't expected a new technique, to be honest.

Janus: "Thanks for the compliment, your use of intelligent fighting is quite commendable, as well. I can tell you, it's gonna take a long time for me to get all those blank discs out of here. They're not supposed to go in here, you know. Makes searching for the right disc even harder to do. Ah, well. It's better than being cut to ribbons."

All this time, Janus still has yet to notice that he's being pushed away by the Pulsewell. He suddenly notices, and gets another idea.

"Alright, then, if you're low on mana, what say we divert away from techniques for awhile while you recharge, hm? Try this on for size!"

Janus reforms his hammer, and hurls it straight at the Pulsewell, hoping the push will be strong enough. As it approaches the center of the well, he changes its direction, using the added force of the Pulsewell to slingshot it straight at Schwa, with increased speed and force.

"I wonder, will this work?"
Schwa

"So you've heard about my technique. Brilliant," Schwa says after have read Janus's mind again, learning that Janus has heard of Gyrowell before. "However, you didn't learn about this one. Gyrowell, switch to a Pulsewell!"

As Schwa says this, the well changes it's pattern. Instead of pulling in objects, it pushes them away. This means it pushes the CD's away from the center... in midair. This turns them into flying projectiles, all aimed at Janus (since they were thrown into the well from Janus's position, they're thrown back toward the same position). Some even go astray, and Schwa crouches in case he's hit by any stray CDs.

"And the great part about Pulsewell is it'll still throw you off balance. I've loved this ever since I learned how to do it, but the down side is that it costs more of my mana to control. Speaking of that... I'm running low. I should probably do something about that soon. Well, running low on mana is just what I get for sparring with a great, honorable fighter!

Oh, by the way, Gyrowell only absorbs energy attacks. CDs wouldn't make it any less stable, I just switched it so I could launch your attacks back at you. "

Janus: "Yikes!"

As he approaches the Gyrowell's gravitational pull, Janus instantly releases his hammer, sending it flying at Schwa. He somersaults along the ground a bit, impressed at Schwa's ability to keep up with his techniques. However, at the same time, Janus keeps his distance from the Gyrowell, knowing full well from the tales he's heard of Schwa what this attack can do. But suddenly, before the hammer hits Schwa, Janus gets an idea.

Recalling his hammer, Janus converts it back to its bag form, hits a small clasp on it, and opens one of the pouches. He draws from the pouch a near-endless supply of blank CDs, hurling them all into the Gyrowell. They're light enough to be pulled into the well's center, but over time, all those CDs (and we're talking literal thousands here) will add up...

"Schwa, you made a mistake. If I keep adding to the weight of your Gyrowell, it'll keep on increasing its pull, correct? Eventually, the well will detonate, and I don't think we want to know what will happen then. I'm sure even you can't control its power when it does. But of course, I'll keep adding to it anyway, just in case you decide to smarten up and stop it from exploding..."

"And I do like your strategies. Not only does it keep me on my toes, it allows me to gain experience in battling against unexpected conditions." Schwa stands in front of the vertical cyclone, figuring out a way to defend himself and possibly counterattack. He figures out the answer and uses a technique. "Gyrowell!"

Schwa thrusts his ether-coated fists in the air, and blue ether pours out of them and forms into a large ball above Schwa. The ball of blue then starts emitting quick pulses of light and electricity currents, having transformed into an artificial gravity well. Schwa points to the side and the gravwell is flung in front of Schwa and a little to the left.

"This will throw off your balance once you get close enough. The Gyrowell pulls everything but me towards it a slight bit, the perfect way to throw off the balance of tricky formations, especially in midair where there's no friction. Have a nice trip, Janus." Schwa stands back for this one.
