I find 128Kbps to work better for me sizewise (1:34 takes up ~1.43MB -- 3:40 takes up ~3.35MB) since there is a very close 1 minute/MB ratio)

As for quality, 128Kbps is good enough some people require more and others less. It seems the average person prefers 192Kbps.

There is no way of measuring quality. It really does depend on what you can get away with. I notice even the slightest dip in quality in sound. 196kbits is enough to pass for me, and still retains a good compression. 6MB for a 5 minute song, 42 hours worth of music in 3.2 GB

I'm re-ripping my CDs. So, I used to use LAME with Hi Quality = 2, VBR-NEW, VBR Quality = 9, 64 Kbits to 320 Kbits, J-Stereo. I want to know what's the best quality vs file size ? Also, which configuration you people are using.
