And if neither of them will run it, then check around to make sure that you don't have a bad dump of the rom.
If all that checks out, then it's simply not supported, be it because of a special chip or an emulation bug. 
Considering how 99.9% of SNES games can be emulated without a hitch... |

If ZSNES doesn't do it...SNES9x sure will. I remember having a problem trying to run Ranma Nibunnoichi - Akanekodan Teki Hihou (RPG) because of the fact the emulation would crash after a short while. SNES9x runs it fine though. |

ROMs are ROMs. Japanese ROMs only differ by their in-game images/text... which wouldn't matter to the emulator since it's displayed all the same. The only thing that would make a ROM not work is special hardware or inaccurate emulation of behavior that the game relys on (and of course... bad dumps probably won't play right).
But like Weasel said. If a particular ROM is causing a problem... most other emus will suffer the same problem. ZSNES and SNES9X pretty much dominate SNES emulation... if neither of them play it you'll be hard pressed to find an emu that does. |

zsnes plays most every snes cartridge. any one it has trouble with, most other emulators will have the same problem.
what game specifically are you trying to play?
Oh, and I'ma move this to the General Emulation forum after I'm sure you've seen it. |

I have searched zophars domain, searched google, looked for zsnes plugins etc etc for a jap snes emu. If there is a jap version of zsnes that would be GREAT! If not, I just need an emulator that will play japanese games. I was sure zsnes played them, but not this game. oh well. |
