I rather like Hyrule Castle, Peach's Castle, and Saffron City. Hyrule had the variety, while Peach's castle was pretty interesting in its own right, and Saffron had probably the best obstacle. That, and they're not at all similar to levels in Melee.

I don't have a clue why they put the boring Kongo Jungle, Dream Land, and Yoshi's Island levels in Melee... After all, they were awfully similar to Battlefield already.

Hyrule Castle is my favorite because it's large and easy to find places to hide in case I'm getting beaten up.

Well, both have bright colors but I think that Dream Land has more. Anyway, Dream Land is Kirby's stage, where a tree blows at you, and Yoshi's Island is the stage with clouds that dissappear if you stand on them too much time.

You misunderstand me. I find it unlikely that one of them didn't grab you and just punch you repeatedly as the other two just pound on you.

I am not so good with 4 players. I hate how the screen stretches. It throws me off. However, I am a master when it comes to 1 on 1. Especially in flat stages with no items, so you have to rely purely on your skill. That is why I like Hyrule Castle and Dream Land. Despite the fact they both have wind obstacles. Wispy Woods and the trnadoes.

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic and I'm arguing for no good reason...

Back to the topic...

Brinstar is, according to my opinion, a bit less interesting arena than Planet Zebes. The arena is smaller and the moving platform is gone. While Brinstar is interesting becease the arena can be actually damaged and that the lava rise more often and faster, I think that Planet Zebes still was better. Planet Zebes was bigger, had a nice moving platform, and a better background.

Still, as good as Planet Zebes may be, it does not compare to the greatness of Hyrule Castle and it's tornado.

3 human players? Impressive Why didn't they just grab you, beat you up, then eventually throw you?

Anyway, I think the actual percentage there is closer to 63%. I know very few people who can't use it to their advantage.

Oh, and corrent me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's called Brinstar, not Planet Zebes.
Actually is called Planet Zebes in SSB and Brinstar in SSBM.

Yeah I was just playing SSBM, and the stage is called Brinstar with Planet Zebes as a heading subtitle.

I voted for Hyrule Castle because of the nice lil' gray castle in the middle.

The stage has a nice variation of surroundings.

Somebody remind me to this a new N64 controller so I can play this game.

Saffron City was the best since I was a huge pokemon fan at the time. Shut up.

Section Z was cool also.

I also voted for Hyrule Temple because it has a lot of space to fight.
That would be my vote for SSBM also.
I like places where u have a lot of space to fight, not like Kirby's arena or other stages where they move around but either stage, I'm still good!

I think that SSB's Hyrule Castle tornado is THE most amusing stage hasard in the whole serie thus making me change my mind (I voted Sector Z at first).

Hyrule Castle is the best SSB stage (in my opinion) thanks to it's fun tornado and fun little spot in the lower right edge of the stage.

However, if you count both games, I do not think that Hyrule Castle could compete with Final Destination (uber background + no obstacles), Poke Floats (platforming goodness!), Big Blue (more platforming goodness!), and Brinstar Depths (I'm among the 0,00001% of the population who can actually use that stage to my advantage! Did you ever beat 3 human opponents on a team against you? I did, in Brinstar Depths!).

Thanks.

Sector Z was my favorite stage, followed very closely by Hyrule castle.

In Sector Z it was always so easy to throw someone far enough away that they couldn't come back.

And Hyrule had those lovely tornadoes to knock people into.

It's Sector Z.

Sector Z is my favorite stage in the first game along with Hyrule Castle. Both have walls that you can use to trap your opponent.

Somebody remind me (it's been a while since I've played this game ), which level is the one in space, with the spaceship that comes around now and again to shoot a random unlucky person?

I always liked Hyrule Castle . I'm a Zelda enthusiast, but I just find it fun, too.
In SSMB however, I like Peach's Castle. Oh, and corrent me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's called Brinstar, not Planet Zebes.

Anyway, my memory blows. Is Mushroom Kingdom the level you had to unlock? That would be my favorite, because I'm cheap and I would just stand at the end of the level.
1) Is just curiosity
2) Yes, Mushroom Kingdom is the level that you had to unlock (is taken from the original Super Mario Bros.)

Why SSB when SSBM is released. I don't really remember any of the stages though since that game got boring very fast. (Like after 5 days worth of playing.)
Maybe I will do a SSBM poll in the future, but not now because I don't have that game.

Then why did you post?

And to answer your question, SSB is a great deal more balanced than SSBM, where the fast characters rule all. As such, a great deal of people prefer it.
I totally agree with you, and I hope that there are more people that think like you.
