this is a hack of SMB1, it doesn't include any backtracking, but it does include quite a few neat features you may never thought you would like in SMB1. As for a hack for SMB1 backtracking, that's a daunting task that I doubt anyone is willing to take on (it requires creating a brand new routine that draws levels backwards and other routines, including reading the level data backwards, keeping all the level data in WRAM, modifying it appropriately). I googled Mario/Mario's adventure, but i couldn't find it, nor at the DES site. but i'll look a zophar fer some stuff |

For your first request... there are lots of SMB hacks. I don't know of any one that should be placed, but I would look in a search engine for Super Mario Bros. hacks.
For SMB3... play Mario Adventure... or Mario's Adventure... I don't remember if it is with 's or not... but it is made by DahrkDaiz and is one of the best SMB3 hacks I have seen.
As far as I know... there are no hacks for the last three games.

hi, gang.
i'm on the look out for certain rom hacks. i'll try to make it neat so i'll put it in a list.
SMB1- i really want to see a hack version where Mario can back track in each level. That's something that has always plagued me as a kid, why can't mario go back to the begining of a stage to pick up a powerup or just to do it for fun?
SMB3- maybe a way to Fulfill my SMB1 sick pleasure would be if there was a graphics hack of SMB3 using SMB1 graphics as much as possible (I never liked the newer versions of Lakitu and the Hammer Bros.) But with SMB3 looking so damned good in the first place, why bother down grading it? I told you, I'm sick.
Kirby's adventure- Are there any hacks of this great game? I could see why it would be difficult as there are a million and three kirby sprites alone.
Tiny Toons 1- It's so simple I might be able to do it myself! I'd like to see this game get a Mario Makeover. suggestions: buster into mario, Plucky into luigi (color similarities) or princess (floating ability), furball into toad i guess, and Dizzy into DK jr maybe.
Duck Tales 1- I tried to give it a mario make over once. I was surprised how easily the enemies could swap for SMB3 baddies. However, my attempt to turn Scrooge McDuck into Toad failed miserably. BUT I REALLY LIKE TOAD!.
SO, do any of these exist already? in the works now? never happen in a million years? |
