I like how you changed the sprites. We don't see enough original sprite edits. Work on your palettes, though. |

Pretty nice work there...
My only complaint is that I was gonna use Koopa Beach in my hack... ah well... I'll figure something else out. |

Palette problems at a few places, but for a first timer, not bad. Not bad at all. Hope to see a demo soon. |

For your first hack, it really isn't bad...
The palettes really don't work though. The silver on the ball and chains in the sand castle would be better than the blue... |

Its looking very nice. There are some pretty tidy graphical changes, and no gliches to be found. The only problems are the afforemented status bar palette problems, and those can be easily fixed.
For your first hack, this is not bad. Keep it up |

HEY thats not water... its the Ocean background, I better get new screenshots. Thanks for the layer 2 advice |

Just use SuperGFX bypass and a ExGFX copy of the of the file containing the brown block where the brown block has been changed into the NES look. Not that hard.

Some wierd palettes and textures make it look like YI, but that's not a bad thing! Great job on the koopa editing. The environment mapping is some of the best I have seen. The industrial-type area is very impressive, great textures here. I love the purple castle, reminds me of something from Windwaker, actually. Overall I would have to say the colour palette and unique environments are superb. This looks like one solid hack! I will be strongly anticipating the demo! |

I didnt edit the fireballs, they are just flashing, i tought the palette was good, kind of mossy, but i guess i was wrong

1st ss: Uhm.. Palette fix please. 2nd ss: Try to not only use black, use more dark colours to make it look more like a suit on the thwomp 3rd ss: Very nice, status bar problems aren't too bad. 4th ss: The colours are pretty bright but it still looks nice, just that uhm.. That part looks very hard. Or I'm overlooking something. 5th ss: The koopas don't look 'geh' they look pretty good actually, they fit the theme. 6th ss: Graphical glitch to the left of where Mario is standing, you see cliff, water and then all of the sudden sand when it's supposed to be all sand down there.
All in all: Looks promising, and if this is your first hack then uhm.. Good job. :O |

However, it looks pretty cool. Especially the Retro Hills level. Good work! |

The koopa looks nice, but the Twomp...

1st screenshot: The palette here is... Wierd... There's green in the cement block, and the lava lotus has a black tip? Graphics seem pretty much the same but please work on that palette. Also, the platform looks pretty poor resting on top of the cement blocks. Just because you added a black pixel on the corner of all of them doesn't mean it's less awkward. But the main problem is the palette.
2nd screenshot: That's an interesting Koopa graphic, and I like it. The dressed-up thwomp Graphic, however, isn't very good. Finally... There's pseudo-3D graphics when nothing else in the entire hack is 3d, let along the enemies...
3rd screenshot: Looks good. Very good, in fact. My only complaint is the wings on the koopa. They look too Super Mario Worldish and not Super Mario Brosish enough. Also, various things on the status bar are green... Your custom palette appears to have ruined that a bit...
4th screenshot: The palette is terrible. Yellow and blue? You've also got a status bar problem - "Mario" there is blue. And the Mario palette has blue in it, too. Also parts of it look like the background is broken.
5th screenshot: Has a few problems. You've got a bush hanging over the edge on the left side, looks unnatural. And, you've got something in the same place as the edge of the lower platform - look, it's got a bit of ground on the end... Also, what's with the crown on the koopa? Strange, that.
6th screenshot: The basic shape behind it is a square :/ Also, it's wide open with nothing on it. It's boring. Also, some of the problems on the hill... And you've got diagonal edge tiles scattered throughout it... To the left of the upper yellow area, there's a cliff where you can see water despite there clearly being sand there to the left... The yellow ground looks wierd, and has multicolored stripes going down it... Finally, there are no waves in the water. What's up with that? |

You can always ust tryout the rex, I don't know for sure if it will work tho. I am basing what I said above off of how my sprite editing worked out. I was asking about the music thing because I wanted to know if your hack was based of the hack by DJ Bouche (he had new music in his hack). Blackhole said that some of the pointers for music pointed to different things, therefore it would take him longer than he thought. |

So it isnt possible to use onle the half Rex sprite, not the complete one?
I dont have custom music, doesnt it involve Hex editing? i dont know Hex.
