For versions, you should generally follow these rules:

- increment the major version (1.00 or 1.0.0.0) when major changes occur, such as complete rewrites
- increment the minor version (1.10 or 1.1.0.0) when changes are made to functionality, such as the addition of features or changing of formats
- increment the revision version (1.11 or 1.1.1.0) when bugs are fixed or other small changes are made
- the fourth field is the build version, which would get incremented every time you make a build of the application, and is (I believe) staticly incremented over all releases (internal and external). If this was your third release, it would be version 1.1.1.3. Usually, the build number is not included in any version a user sees.

I think your more recent post is the first bug fix to your first major rewrite, so its most appropriate version number would be v2.01 or v2.0.1.0.

No, Waddler D was right, I acidently borked the saving code for the Enemy Stats. It's fixed now, and I added in the ability to read the enemy names from the rom to populate the Gato list, like I did with the monster list.

Thanks for telling me about it Waddler D, I owe you one (more).

Yeah, I've worked with the Treasure editing, but I still need more help to get it working.
I'll try again tonight or tommorow to get that ironed out.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience of the non-saving stats, I'm not sure what I was doing,
(heh...some weird stuff I had in there ).

Next version, I'll have to start giving it a vesion number... I now see the usefullness of such a thing.

I don't know if I'm missing the saving boat or what, am I saving it wrong?

Oh wait, refresh? Doh! Hmm, I'll try it and see if it helps to save the edited stats and such. If it doesn't, I'll let you know some way.

EDIT: I'm kind of confused here, it doesn't look like it saves at all. Only the name editing saves.

That's weird, it works for me. I changed the first enemy (00 - Nu) his HP and saved, then I closed the window and reopend it, it was all saved, then I changed it back to the original and it was saved again. Maybe it's something with your ROM itself? Did you check if it's Read-only?

The only significant issue I see offhand is that the treasure editor does not load up the original values.

Otherwise, looks good. Good work.

By the way, I'll try out Chrono Tweaker, it seems to be rather fit for somebody who doesn't want to look through all those numbers.

That somebody who doesn't want to look through all those numbers started out to be me.
I too have fiddeled with the AI some, and would love to know how it works, and maybe edit some of it. PM me, or I'll PM you, either way, I 'd love to chat with you about it.

It's been awhile since I've been able to even think about touching this, so I decided to add a few things, clean it up, and release the newest version.

-----------------------------------------
What's New 7/25/04
-----------------------------------------
Reduced code thanks to help from Evil Peer and TFG. Now a bit faster.
Cleaned and trimmed forms and dialogs.
Changed bit fields to checkboxes instead of comboboxes for better, easier editing.
Added button to Gato editing window that will open the enemy editor automatiacally selecting
your Gato choice in the list.
Added enemy name editing, and an option to populate the list with the actual names, or use
the original predefined list. The names save as you type them, so you don't need to hit save
if you are just editing names.

And a screenshot.

Let me know if there's any major bugs. I know the list doesn't update to reflect the changed names untill you refresh the list, I'll look for a way make it instant.
