The sad thing?
That's kinda true.
Actually, a lot of Sympatico users kept pestering Blizzard after the first round of invites were sent because our ISP blocks certain ports and... you know. But that didn't mean squat. |

Not just with mmorpg's, but pretty much EVERYTHING these days. I remember people complaining about strategies in WC3, usually with something along these lines (paraphrased for clarity): "Why can't I beat someone's strategy that they've used hundreds of times with a strategy I just thought of this morning?!?!? IMBALANCE!!!". Got extremely irritating after a while, and then suddenly I barely noticed those kinds of posts anymore. |

Well, SWG started out hot, then people started bitching.
Then they started fixing a bunch of things, revamping areas, adding new content and items...
Then people still bitched.
For instance, people are always complaining about wanting more content. So the devs are adding race tracks so players can hold their own races on speederbikes or what have you. People are complaining over that now too over the stupidest reasons.
I guess that's the way it goes with mmorpg's. No matter how hard developers try to make the players happy, you'll always have people who bitch about it.
WoW will definitely be a hit. I don't like how this "rest" system is going to work but maybe it wont be so bad. |

Definitely true about that -- it just takes them a while to get there sometimes. (See: WC3:TFT; it's at v1.16, and they're still not done with it, lol).
I still want another Starcraft game though... I hope they start working on one after they've gotten WoW out the door. |

And then some don't start off so hot but end up improving over time.
I'm sure Legion would use SWG as one example.
I think WoW will succeed though - Blizzard are perfectionists. They'll try make the game as accessable and replayable as possible. |

"This looks like it could be the best ever online Rpg."
Just so you know, this is what's said about EVERY mmorpg before it's released. They said it about Horizons and looked how shitty that turned out.
Every next mmorpg is "the next big thing".
I'll play it. I've got to. But I heard it wasn't as great as it's made out to be. =-o
We shall see. |

I doubt very much that WoW's going to be ready for an early August release. They're still in beta testing and still rolling out new levels/features, plus I think they're going to expand the beta testing field one more time BEFORE the open beta.
I'd guess October. |

mmm....not quite the reaction I had expected, though I can't wait for this game...it looks awesome and all of the testers have given great feedback...
Though I do love the warcraft series, probably making me a bit bias....How can you say this game does'nt look good though? that makes no sense...are your monitors functioning properly?
kirby said there are better looking games out now...and online ones too...what are they? I want to see them!
in the end this game looks cool and I will hope to see some of you playin' though I may have to kill you. |

Well, I wouldn't exactly say that. I've never played an MMO before, and I'm anxiously waiting for this one.
Although, I will admit that I'd drop this in a heart-beat if a Starcraft MMO ever came out.... |

As much as I respect Blizzard for being one of the only developers with a soul left, I can't say I'm gonna get this game. I'm not very into MMORPGs, the only one I play is Ragnarok. Still, it does look nice and the graphics are definitely proof that Blizzard likes moving in leaps and bounds (WCII's sprites, then WCIII's good polygonal design, now WoW's smooth 3D) when it comes to visual presentation.
I'd like to see a Starcraft MMO, personally. |

God....ok its not how much the graphics wow you really thoguh blizzard seems to go for style. EQ2 looks like total shit to me another way sony gets to over price you. Blizzard has never led me wrong before, since Diablo 2, Starcraft, and Warcraft series have taken so much time from my life. So im pretty sure ill be at EB on the release date. |
