I wonder how fast the price will drop.

It could be even lower, the technology who is used isn't that advanced.

A friend of mine (Rich bastard! ) has this awesome palm-pilot that can do more than those two put together. The thing cost only about $400, but hey! That's a great deal considering the fact that it has...

-Schedule devices
-180gigs of space
-Remote control programmer
-An internet modem

He downloaded all the emulators and whatnot he would ever need on there.
-N64
-PS2
-Dreamcast
-Sega Genesis
-SNES
...the works!

I saw one just like that and I am saving up my extra cash to get one myself.

...Keep it to play GB/GBC games if you have them?

I'd still hold on to it - doubt you can link them but...

I never got that PS1/2 memory card scheme... That's likely the ONLY reason I can walk into any video game store here and buy a PS1 card. (Or even a PSOne. )

The cards are pretty cheap for the PS1, but still... For someone who buys a brand new PS2 and wants to buy some old PS1 games, it's a slap in the face.

I do not really mind that much, since I probably sill not be throwing out my SP or GBA Player anytime soon..... Then again, i dont know anyone who carries around 2 handheld systems.

No you know one.

And the 'compatibility issue' with the PS1 and PS2 Controller, and sp. with the Memorycards is only a moneymaking sheme.

It's like I can't use my old Disk on the new computer anymore. (Be it Cd, Zip or just play 3.5").

Ages seems to be more puzzle based and Seasons more action based. I only scratched the surface of them but maybe I can get a good start on one by the end of the summer.

Kirby - They're not really "left out", but considering how many GBA's are out there... It's hard to find someone upgrading directly from the GB/GBC to the DS.

There we go then.

To be honest, most people won't bitch and complain about no GB/C compatibility... since most people who buy it will have a GBA anyways. Pretty simple.

And I still have a working GB so...

I would have to agree that the best generic brand of batteries ARE the Kirkland Signature...

I live in AZ and i can get a 48-pack for about 13 bucks.

But i dont think the next gen handhelds need AA's... just CD players and the like. They should have rechargables also.

And the DS is not backward compatible with GB/GBC games, just the GBA.
This was stated at E3.

They say that the DS isn't a replacement, but if the sales are astronomical then Nintendo might back away from that statement.

According to pictures of the slot, it looks like it's mainly built for GBA games, so I wouldn't expect GB/C compatiability.

That's what a GBA is for.

But even then it takes time before GBA games stop coming out.

The last GBC game was released 2 years after the GBA release right?

I heard thought that the Nintendo DS will not support old GB games, just GBA games...

It will take some time before GBA is dead after DS is released, Nintendo say that Nintendo DS is not a replacment for Gameboy. But it seems strange having yet another portable in their lineup..
